This is possibly the best list of Guild Stereotypes.

Personally I can deal with the people who cause drama since they make it more interesting, but what I can not stand is the The GM's Significant Other on that list. Poor players that you can't get rid of drive me nutty.

I understand all too well. I introduced my girlfriend at the time to EQ. i had been playing since 2000 and she came in bout 2003. due to "unforseen" circumstances, She had to move away. She wanted to keep playing the game with me and have a relationship with me in game. So i was ok with it.

She played a High Elf Paladin and i was a Human Cleric.She started meeting people in game which is fine, she needs friends. I started to get suspicious of her attitude and actions when she was on the game 10 to 15 hrs a day. I tried to tell her the game isnt worth it. She started amassing so many guy friends on the game. and this is someone who prefers girl friends. So i asked what the deal was. She went all woman psycho on me and accused me of a bunch of crap that later on i find out that shes been doin all along and breaks up with me.

Fine. so i leave eq with a bad taste in my mouth back in 2005. Every once in a while since then she would email me ask me to give her my account so she can level all my toons to get me to come back to the game. HELL NO! woman your crazy.

She called me up last week to catch up on "lost time" Her life was crappy. HA. She had a long distance realtionship with a Druid in game. had a Bard living with her and got with several others guys in game. She says she quit EQ last year and went to WoW. And now shes alone and wants me back, Regrets all the decisions she made for the past 6 years. Sucks to be her i guess.

Im proud of how far she got her character in EQ, Had a top raiding guild, Was in the top 5 on the whole server. But she Slutted her way to the top. So i have no respect for her. I still to this day dont understand her actions. I guess she was thinking with her gape rather than her brain! She caused so much drama for so many people. Im glad im not a part of that anymore.

 Guess I was lucky.  Tried to get my wife into WOW.  It took her close to an hour or more to finally create her character.  She couldn't decide on a hair style.  Once in game I explained to her how quests worked.  She didn't like killing the bats and other small creatures, said it was mean.

Simple-- when there are two crazy people the guild self-destructs and one or both then goes out to find their next victims...

so odds of finding a guild with a crazy person increases over time as more and more guilds are infected and either hold onto one of them or disappears entirely and then one or two more get infected -- it's a progressively geometric increase with small step-like regions of non-growth (for the mathematically inclined).

You can deal with it, because given what you describe about yourself YOU are the drama queen of every guild's nightmare.

 Every MMORPG I've played there always seems to be that one person.  They're over sensitive, need attention, start issues from nothing yet they're kept around because they usually play a needed class.  In everquest it was this female high elf cleric who would threaten to quit the game if nobody said hi when she logged on.  She constantly whined about her character and would try to flirt with people even though she looked like an orc in real life.

Every single game I've played the guilds seem to have these attention seeking whining over sensitive folks.  They're adults too, not kids as you'd think.  I met kids who were more mature.

Lol that's well out of order but you sure made me laugh there. I think there are loads of guys and girls who play MMOs who lack a social life. Some of them are desperate.

Not every crazy person is female. I have met many weird  people in games, but the craziest person I know plays StarWars Galaxies NGE. He is married with three kids but has affairs online and offline with people he met in this game. He tried to hook up with me so many times it was scaryl. He just totally creeped me out. What was even scarier is his wife knew about these affairs and was fine with it.

What was gross is when he was with his in game "wife" they would act so lovey dovey and it would always make the rest of the guild want to puke.  Then he gets all mad if people didn't approve of this relationship or hurt his in game wife's feelings. Totally messed up situation.
