For some reason when I start the game, my McAffey antiviral program registers it as a trojan computer virus. I googled it and folks with other antiviral software programs are also getting this alert.
So what gives? I'm wondering if this is something I should be worried about or is it safe to ignore? |

I'd be more worried about McAffey... obviously it cannot identify a real virus, so what kind of protection could it possibly be giving you? |

Play with the big kids and get Norton. I use skooma so that I can work harder and longer and make more money so I can buy more skooma. I don't see a problem. |

Played the beta. I use ESET NOD32. and it never told me anything about the game. Not sure if a the release is that much different now. |

Yea, I dropped Macafee just for the reasons the OP quoted. I now have Norton and haven't had any problems with Aion and playing behind my firewall. |

Yup get ESET NOD32.. quite good and you can 30 day trial it free of any commitement. Norton, Macafee.. thats all old crap.. they were good when there was nothing else on the market.. but they both got greedy along the way.. and spent more time trying to charge for their software than improving it. |

Another vote for ESET NOD32. It has a very small footprint and is game-friendly.

Very bad. Nothing about it is helpful. Get rid of it ASAP. "There are two great powers, and they've been fighting since time began. Every advance in human life, every scrap of knowledge and wisdom and decency we have has been torn by one side from the teeth of the other. Every little increase in human freedom has been fought over ferociously between those who want us to know more and be wiser and stronger, and those who want us to obey and be humble and submit." — John Parry, to his son Will; "The Subtle Knife," by Phillip Pullman |

AVG isn't functioning as well as it used to, this last few months, and I get several virus-infested PCs to sort out each day that have a fully up-to-date v8.5 supposedly working. The record for infected files so far is 1070 on one machine, and AVG hadn't noticed a single one. I would suggest Avast or Avira as free alternatives. The false positive for Aion will be the Launcher program or Game Guard, in all likelihood. |

there is a norton gamer edition ,i think its probably the fastest out there for gamer and norton detect everything there is to detect lol the only thing that might make your anti virus is from some file in aion.tab if i recall or a name like that and its because gameguard is there also always check to make sure that file is closed when you close the game happen fairly regularly the aion.tab is still active annoying hell yes |
