Hi guys, Ive heard that the pvp here is similar to DAoC (like keep capturing/defending with siege weapons and such) and I was thinking of getting this game, but I wanted to know if it was true. Thanks in advance.

Yes but not sure about the siege weapons since i haven't progressed that far.

It has the potential, but I worry whether or not the players in this game are actually going to go down that path.

Its quite possible everyone will decide to just run around solo PvPing WoW style, and so far thats all i've seen people doing.

No one's gone for a keep yet I dont think..game just started so their aren't quite a lot of players in the abyss yet, but I guess we'll find out how it turns out.

So far its very similar to DAOC open field, in that skilled players can overcome greater odds to an extent. The siege mechanics do seem very similar to DAOC but thats just mechanics... untill Im in a siege I wont know for sure.

However overall it is very DAOC like.

IF there are 3 playable factions, IF you can choose only one faction per server, IF the PvP is rewarding, not penalising... then you can think about DAoC-alike.

There are two playable factions and there is a 3rd computer controlled faction.  The computer controlled faction will be an enemy to both factions or it might be an enemy to one faction and a friend to the other or it might ignore both factions.  This is used to balance out imbalanced in the factions.

Rewarding no death penalty for PVP and with some great mechanincs canget back in the fight very quickly.

Its the closest anything has come to DAOC PVP

Rift's for eg allow the other faction into your homeworld and I havent seen a bunch of people show pride in their faction and kick the other sides ass so badly since the days of DAOC when you refused to let the opposition set foot on your land.

The "realm-pride" that DAOC had, will come with time. Just like in WoW (I hate referencing WoW, but whatever) there used to be people like myself, who would refuse to roll Alliance, just because they are for pussies :) .

The three playable factions in DAOC made a HUGE difference in the gameplay.

PvPvE is not DAOC combat,

This is COMPLETE blasphemy, AION pvp is NOTHING like DAOC pvp. If anything, it's nothing but WoW battleground pvp thrown into a LARGER three dimenional battleground (e.g: you can fly for about 180seconds, and in combat).

Don't listen to anyone who says different since they're simply trying to get you to buy something they like, and are willing to say anything. Or, quite simply, didn't play DAOC for more than 3months.

AION = WoW PVP

AION does NOT = DAOC RVR/PVP

 mm every night after 4 pm server are all full

today server arent full for one reason

they added a new server 

most player have a hard time with the way combat works but  once they understand a bit most love it 

some whine after only leveling to 20 but if you played any mmo not much is going on in any game in the 20s its sjust starting to see a small bit

most got lazy in wow ,and now aa lot of player want to bepowerlevelled in all mmo but dont want to pay for that service lol

aion is a great game

PRESS V,THEN CHOSE BLOCK AND WRITE THE NAME OF THE ONE YOU DONT WANT TO SEE A POST FROM IN AION

i love this feature,there are still lot of lineup in all server but its down to about a worst of 30 min 

but often you go right in

and if you dont mind to reroll theres the new server
