That LOTRO pic sample isn't even in max detail. Set textures very high and max everything out THEN compare.
This is just lame attempt tbh :\ |

As you can tell i don't post here very often, but i had to on this 1. LOTRO is far superior in graphics, no contest. Having said that i think Aion has more beautiful and unique architechture. Plus i can play Aion on my crappy notebook and it still looks pretty good.

LOTRO landscapes are hand down better, especially in DX10. Aion characters and animation are hand down better. In my opinion of course. |

Sorry, i thought we were only talking about graphics, but you added it has no PvP. Ya i agree the lack of PvP turned me off. Still the best looking game i have played. Like Oblivion graphics on high in an MMO. |

What does it matter? Absolutely nothing. If the gameplay is shallow (like LotRO's is now that Turbine destroyed their original concept) than gameplay > graphics |

1) The pic of the LoTRO character is a less than flattering one. It kinda reminds me of how magazines and news networks will always use the most unflattering pictures/footage of people they don't like and the most flattering ones of those they do. I see people do that a lot when comparing images of different games to say which is better. 2) The OP seems to be getting graphics tech and art style mixed up. DX9 and DX10 are APIs. They deal with how graphics are rendered, not what is rendered. Texture resolution is also likely at play here. 3) This comment... "lotro landscapes give better perception than Aions as they filled them with freaking trees and bushes as it has NO PVP"... makes absolutely no sense, in the context of the thread, or by itself.

Im sorry bud but PVP in lotro is the worst I've seen and I've played them all. Don't defend the Moors man, pvp sucks. You cant deny that. As for graphics, they arnt everything to me. I perfer a fun game over the best graphics. Aion's combat alone to more fun then lotros, not tho mention the armor in Aion makes lotro look like childs play.... LOTRO character models are horrible, may people left lotro or dont play it because the armor and characters look like the were stuck into a world they don't match. Sure lotro has great landscapes but I could care less if my toon has next to no imagination at all...good god lotro armor still makes me wanna slit my wrists...lol Anyways overall I think Aion makes Lotro look bad in many ways. But of course I enjoy pvp so I'm biased. Since Moria's release I won't play Turbine games anymore so says alot about what I think of LOTRO..
Have fun in middle earth pvers!! :-) "Mom, I play Tera for the gameplay I swear!!" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-2paFdRw_U |

And anyway.... the whole thing is subjective. You like the look of Aion better. Others like the look of LoTRO better... Still others think neither of them is impressive. And even others will think they both look great in their own way.
