I love this response most of all. LOL Sadly, this logic escapes most gamers. Because, after all, you KNOW that no game REALLY exists beyond the one you're playing in the moment. lol
OR
the fact that WoW invaded YOUR game....insults you somehow.
I think I hate both sides right now. I hate seeing "WoW" in any new game I play/test. And I hate the comparison whiners (mostly because they are morons who can't give valid points as to why they are whining) "This may hurt a little, but it's something you'll get used to. Relax....." |

Usually current game you play will always be compared to the game you used to play expecially with mmos. I remember comparing EQ2 and WoW to SWG when i left. Thats what usually happens. TBH like it has been said before there is very little difference between AIon and WoW. Hell even the community is pretty much the same sorry to burst this imaginery bubble most Aion players seem to be living in. AFK mercahnt loggers near the game spawn point with taunting messages....yeah very mature community there. |

Agreed. As an example, I actually saw Aion in a store this evening, although its amazing I was able to notice it. I was rather interested in seeing the game box on shelves, since I bought mine off Steam. So I moved aside the cardboard display for HDMI cables that was in front of the 5 little Aion boxes on the far left of the bottom shelf, and took a look. Nice looking box, metal, sorta reminded me of the deluxe X360 and Wii games I've seen. Reached back around the display, tossed it back on the bottom shelf, and glanced up at the entire row of Blizzard games, lining up the top shelf, right at eye level, and saw the reality of the situation for what it is. Subconsciously, I think whomever stocked the shelves knew the same thing, and definitely knew where Aion belongs. |

How can you compare the three you mention? EQ2 is the higher end graphical game, WoW is a more cartoony high fantasy game, and SWG fits NO WHERE NEAR EITHER!!! it amazes me how these comparisons EVER come about......it's like saying..."I like my tricycle, but a Toyota Tundra just has a bit better handling"

Yes of course how can you possibly compare them? The only things they have in common are...... A game world with its own lore Apart from those things they are completely different games. Yeah its totally amazing that anyone finds any reason to compare them. What on earth is wrong with people?! They must be mad! |

well when the game is SO similar to WoW what do you expect? There was a similar problem with WoW and EQ players. "World of Warcraft is the perfect implementation of this genre." - Hilmar Petursson. CEO of CCP. |

Hehe-I'm glad they're here! WELCOME! Please enjoy Aion for what it offers and not compare it to WoW. Totally different games. |

Quoted for the truth. For example i was playing wow and thought wow the crafting system sucks compared such a awesome and advanced system thats in star wars galaxies but also i was thinking that it does not take immense amount of time to create anything decent. When i was playing WoW i found that dungeons were great and really well done and nothing like that in star wars. Grouping with friends and actually doing an instance together rather then grouping to make the biggest missions in star wars made sense. There is so much to comare to see whats better and whats not. Yes Aion and WoW are 2 different games but the concepts of play are almost the same. Questing, stories, item drops, pvp concepts and can easily be comapred. I can even bet you that at least 90% of the aion players were once WoW players or tried WoW.

A very simple solution to this problem : Do not play WOW based copies. We saw it in TR, we saw it in AoC and we saw it in War. People started en mass to play mmorpg's with Wow, it is normal they compare it and want to try others. Oh btw, even in the most important launching week Aion hardly made a scratch on Wow number of players. Frightening really. It shows most people come have a look, wonder around and indeed go back to WOW, even in the first week of a hyped launch. Want a real mmorpg? Play WOW with experience turned off mode and be Pve_Pvp King at any level without a rat race. |

(pss sarcasm incase you cant tell)... but yah what ever... since WoW was a clone of the games that were there before it... people just need to stop bringing WoW into the picture say like Aions crafting system is not as advanced as Vanguards but at least it doesnt have as many glitches, or there is more freedom of movement in this game then guild wars... blah blah blah i am also tired of hearing about WoW when i am playing Aion so much so only chats i have active are party and Exp now. but i think it is these people who think they are MMO experts because they joined in the WoW crowd and all they know and have ever played is WoW and have finally gotten bored and are looking for somethign other then WoW. but little do most of them know that there are many other MMO's out there more allot better then WoW. broaden your horrizon and get to know the market before making compairisons. ok rant done... i really had to get that out of my system... -13 |

We all KNOW that stores stock brand new merchandise that are expected to move more then its fair share of units on the bottom shelf. They would rather put games that have been out for a few years that sell for $19.99 where they can grab the shoppers attention. Oh and ya, I was born yesterday -- Forgot to mention that as well.

AION will not kill wow, but it has a chance to take a portion of its players away permanently. |
