I agree with the OP. If I'd pay a good chunk for a game, then I'd want to be able to play it as well, and not wait for hours. What do I care for the reasons why I can't play it? It's not my job to gather information about what's going on or not. My job was to pay the money, which I did. And then I expect to be able to get something for that. The excuses people make up are just words, changing nothing that I paid and can't use it. Also I agree with the guy said they probably do it on purpose for a while, to fuel the hype. I mean the company knew what was coming. They had the experience to see it and to deal with it. But they didn't deal with it. I wouldn't quit the game that quickly though, trying every now and then to see if something changed. Let's play Fallen Earth (from launch to present) |

Second if your having such long waits to login in try the elyos side they are not as populated as the asmo side which in turn lets you right into the game without a wait AT ALL. You and all others complaining about wait times should have known that once they (NCsoft) said they're gonna keep a balance of population on the serers to keep it fair in the abyss should have expected this sorta thing. Plus the fact that it is within the first week of release you should also know that wait times might happen while players rush to see the new toy on the market. So for you and all the little whiners who blame NCsoft for there own stupid decision not a) try another server b) wait till the game calms down a little c) just try the elyos side, it's your own fault. there is always room lol but the idiot like the one you replied to wont go to asny server but the one they chose me i got 8 toon so when a server is full i go play on another thats it but not them oh no they would rater leave the game then try another server or race lol it makes me laugh i never saw all server all race full best bet use the server recommend in aion site and you will always play fastest lol |

The above is so true it is funny. I have Asmo characters on Az that I can never get to, but I can log into my Elyos toons without issue. There is no need to ragequit. |

You would be surprised how few people care about what you have to say. |

Blizzard's WoW queues were horrendous when it first launched and it took some time to clear up. The connection and lag issues when an MMO launches are usually so severe that it's just not time- or cost-effective to do what might be necessary to eliminate it. Especially because once the mass of players spread out, the problem mostly dissipates. It's almost like when a new iPhone or something goes on sale and it sells out -- and people scream at Apple like, "WHY CAN'T YOU KEEP THEM IN STOCK?! YOU KNEW THE DEMAND WAS HIGH!" Uh, yeah, sure, but to say they should've just put out 5x the product to prevent shortages is short-sighted thinking. Bottom line, if you're an MMO Early Adopter, these are the growing pains you willingly took upon yourself. |

Exactly. While I haven't had any issues in Aion so far, you have to keep in mind that any popular game is going to have server issues at the start. I remember WoW 1 hour + queue times after launch and lag like you wouldn't believe. It will be solved with time.
I can remember WoW queues of over an hour when we were in BWL. That was quite a while after release. This game has been out how long and people are complaining about queues?
Waiting in queues sucks. MMORPG's in general are probably always going to have a problem with queues if they are successful. It's that old between a rock and a hard place thing. Too many servers, too many of one faction, too many of a certain class will make a pvp game fail. If you try and do something proactive about the problem people are going to justifiably complain about queues or lock outs.
I'm glad to see they are limiting private stores and adding servers. It's only been a few days since launch and it looks like NcSoft is listening to their customers and changing things as quickly as possible. It will never be quick enough for some people. Hell, it's not quick enough for ME when I'm stuck in a queue!
I am encouraged that NcSoft is listening. That's a very good start.

Hey, I've got this novel idea: Roll on a server without a queue! That's right: When WoW launched I had NEVER waited in a queue, because I made my toons on low population servers. I really don't understand how people can only play games with their friends; it's not like you can't roll a toon on another server and have fun with people you don't know.

When you lose touch with friends, the friendship suffers. I kind of like to have my RL friends, I like to keep in touch with them and I like to play games with them. If I did not want to play with my friends, then by definition they are not my friends.

If you live online, then I could see how having your friends play as well is necessary. For me it's a good thing that my friends don't play, since I'm somewhat compulsive and could see myself sitting and staring at a screen all day.

I liked MMOs better when gamers didn't play them, and just geeks did. |

Hold on a second. Are some people here actually DEFENDING a 4 hour queue to play a video game? Take a step back and think about what you're saying, then maybe you can empathize with those that don't have the time/patience to put up with it. I was considering giving this game a go, but if the queues are like that...I think I'll wait.

why didn't you just roll on a different server? there are 2 low pop servers that almost never have any que at all at any time of the day. me and my guild logged in at 3 sunday and the server we orginially picked was just slammed, and one guildie that made his character elyos before he found out we went asmo and no one could make anymore asmo on that server. we got in with no que but you couldn't do any quests there was so many people. so i logged out and saw the one server said low so we all went there and rerolled, we're asmo and no one in my guild has ever had a que. and yesterday there was a big raid on Altguard by elyos probably atleast 40 elyos all in the same 2 guilds looked like a joint effort was ALOT of fun. honestly i think the shops caused 90% of the ques, and they fixed that today by logging out the shops after 30 min. |

Point taken. And I agree with you 100%. I am getting an odd feeling lately about Aion. It took me so long to break my addiction to WoW that I am having some real issues about getting back into any game at that level.
Living online kind of sucks. I prefer your plan actually. |

Heck, if you were inclined to go to Disney world during peak times you would be spending a lot of time in lines. Do you really think that because you paid your admission you should be able to just walk up to the roller coaster and get on without waiting your turn? Or some popular bars and night clubs have lines because there are too many people inside so you have to wait until some clear out. Or just plain waiting for a table in a restaurant. Do what you want it's your money and time but I think you are making a mountain out of a mole hill. |

Whats funny is the game has been runnign how long in other countries with private stores? and in less than a week we managed to explote the feature to such an extent that they baicly chop it off. . . good job guys!
I understand beeing pissed about he que, not a fan either of course I expect with any new MMO a line, WoW was down more than it was up when it whent live. Was the first time I ever saw a MMO actualy give time back to the players lol Blizz extended our free play time by like a week and some change was very nice of them. Now Aion hasn't crashed yet that I know of but we cant say much there after all it has been live for awhile but I would think any MMOer that plays a MMO from launch is familuer with and expects either or both ques or crashes/log-in failuers. Its not a matter of to few servers its a matter of its a new game and massive numbers of people are trying to play all the time. I do suggest that if you dont like it cancel the sub (not being mean) generaly a game is much better abotu 3 - 6 M out any wayso if you have another game to play and dont need to be in Aion right now then cancel and come back later see if its better. |
