I just have to laugh every time someone says "I'm hardcore" or too hardcore for this game, or you're not hardcore enough.

It's a flipping video game, you respawn after death.  Play life, it's a lot more hardcore trust me.

Join the army, become a Green Beret and then we'll talk about whether you're hardcore or not.

 I was just reading through the Aion reviews and a bunch of people were complaining about the "Korean grind" then they'd say "i'm just too hardcore" so I didn't like it.  It's too much like WoW>

Well I do feel I am a Hardcore gamer, but that never means that I would think or say stupid things like I am too harcore for this game or a game is not hardcore enough cause anyone can play any game what ever genre the game is made to be played harcore, cause to me hardcore is a playstyle which means I can become very dedicated towards a game, it's absolute something else then having a hardcore lifestyle, which again can mean so many things.

Sorry, you seem to have a very limited view on what hardcore is, I can not blame you with sites like this, but please try and look beyond what some people might consider hardcore on sites like this.

Also grind is not hardcore, obvious if people have a limited playstyle they might consider it hardcore, to me it isn't hardcore but a very limited way to play a MMORPG. As for me there is no grind in these games and never has been grind in this genre, and have played plenty of them where I often saw plenty of complaints of the games I played to have this so-called grind to it where I never encountered grind as to me it's a playstyle people put on themselfs and not the games.

I think the OP was trying to argue that the term 'hardcore gamer' is an oxymoron. I have to agree.

The whole idea of "hardcore" is idiotic to begin with.  Why anyone wants to claim to be "hardcore" is beyond me, especially when you're talking about hobbies.  Nobody is a "hardcore" stamp-collector.  Nobody is a "hardcore" stenographer.  It's just when you're talking about basically immature things where "hardcore" comes into play and maybe that's because the people who engage in those activities seriously just need to grow the fuck up.

Instead of saying "I'm hardcore", why not substitute "I'm an immature moron who needs to move out of my mother's basement and get a life."  It's a lot more accurate.
