I think Aion will kill off Warhammer Online and may finish off Age of Conan as well. I see the game targeting the same audience - yet is substantially better done than each of these. As for WOW - no more than a small blip on that Leviathan... |

I would be curious to know what WoW's subs are now, i know china came back online, but i wonder how many came back to the game, we know as MMO's get released WoW loses some of its subs to each one, yes i know a lot end up back in WoW. I'm not real sure this targets the same audience as AoC myself. I do think this could be another blow to Warhammer that ends that game. Such a shame about Warhammer. So much potential... /sigh 1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical. 2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself. 3. Yes, Cpt. They are all different games really. I don't really see the point of yet another mindless Aion thread. Probably Aionites trying to entertain themselves somehow, seems the game isn't doing it. |

They are still very different in many ways. I had hopes for WAR, had the CE and everything but it did not work out the way we wanted. I have no interest in Aion, I played it for couple of months and stop because even if it is PvP centric, it's not the same as WAR or AoC. I wish they had kept that in place. I really hate gold-buying places, and China is far and away the worst culprit. Not letting them sweat-shop the grinding was a great improvement, not just for WoW, but for any game where this could be a problem...which is all of them. I see Aion having a far greater impact on WAR than AoC. AoC is targeted at a completely different audience, which is unlikely to enjoy Aion. Aion won't kill either game. I see WAR going f2p by next summer, though the rumors circulating today that Microsoft may be looking to acquire EA throws things off a bit.

Again the game has +/- 4 million subs in Asia. They didn't take those from WAR or AoC. They took them from WoW. Even if they hold 500k here in NA those will come from WoW and not many from the other games. Cripes AoC only has 75k or so subs and I doubt they are going to get 100%.
