EvE Rules #491 you should never, ever attack Russians on winter months |
if you want to go crafting in this game is next to impossible without a second account or PVE grind example making 80 crossbow bolt(basic item) take 10 minutes and give you 23 experience kill a lvl 3 mob give you 40-50 takes 10 seconds

So when you say "next to impossible" you just mean it takes patience? They never claimed it was easy or fast, just that it is possible. I don't know of another conventional mmorpg that has been so generous to someone wanting 100% crafting. |

And besides why would you want to do 100% crafting grind? You know a crafter can also be a good combat character only con is not being a versatile PvP combat character. |

It would sooner be to accesible (Everyone can do it, especialy the basic items) then being impossible. It does take time though, however once again you can craft while gathering/questing/fighting or hell even if you log off it continues to craft. |

The devs never said it was efficient to lvl via crafting, they only said it is possible to lvl without ever firing a shot but in the same sentence said it would take forever. So don't get why you are complaining as it research was done you'd find this out just like i did |

You can do crafting while offline. Can you keep killing mobs while offline? Here is your answer. DB Denial makes one look a lot dumber than he/she actually is. |

Cosy, while I havent even attempted crafting yet I know players that do nothing but crafting/gathering. While they say it's hard, its not impossible. you could always get a friend in game to help you kill shit or do what other less hardcore crafters do and just level a basic combat skill so you could take advantage of both.

Wow, that this is even possible is truly amazing. Good on them; this is a very interesting game. "There are two great powers, and they've been fighting since time began. Every advance in human life, every scrap of knowledge and wisdom and decency we have has been torn by one side from the teeth of the other. Every little increase in human freedom has been fought over ferociously between those who want us to know more and be wiser and stronger, and those who want us to obey and be humble and submit." — John Parry, to his son Will; "The Subtle Knife," by Phillip Pullman |

I'm not sure what the complaint is. 1. Is the complaint that you don't get enough XP to level quickly from purely crafting? Or 2. That you can't sustain your character via crafting?
1. You do get XP from harvesting and crafting. Obviously it's going to take longer to level via crafting alone. I think the crafting Xp is meant to supplement adventure XP. Also, there are quests for crafted items scattered about. 2. You can queue up to twenty items and go about your business. You can also craft offline. More specifically to the crossbow bolt statement, you can get those off of mobs. Ammo in general has more advanced crafting that is called "efficient" ammo or something to that effect. Basically you can create larger batches at a time. --- Crafting things that are listed white in your crafting window will generate more XP. |

maybe the complaint is that a pure crafting character isn't as realistic in fallen earth as it is in other sandbox games. |

There are PLENTY of Crafting/scavenging Quests. You just have to do the right chains and find them. Remember, you wanted a sandbox game and in a sandbox game, there is no hand holding. I'd say half of my levels came from combat quests, the other came from crafting/scavenging quests. End of discussion. lol |

Yeah saying it's sandbox while talking about quest chains.... is a pretty big contradiction |

Why? Cause you quest? It's not EVE. Skills don't train in real time. I don't play EVE for that very reason. You can start FE in 6yrs and with enough time and dedication, you could smash people who started in pre-Launch. Same can't be said for EVE. That mechanic is a double edged sword, it allows for a much more open game but at the same time detours alot of people away.
EVE's a great game though. Don't take this reply as meaning that I think it's bad. I have reactivated my EVE account at least 7 or 8 times since launch. |

YOu can have quests in a sandbox. As long as the player is not forced to do them, then by all mean... it is a sandbox. SWG had quest series for Jabba and other theme park.. You didn't have to do them but they were linear and SWG was a sandbox.
Sandbox doesn't mean no storyline and such... EVE is the most advance sandbox and it has EPIC quests :O

People are very, very confused with terms. Being a sandbox has nothing to do with having quests, or having certain types of quests. Sandbox is in the mechanics. Not levelling per person (ie. a level 8 fighter etc), but levelling skills only. Having access to any skills (but, for balance reasons, making it nearly impossible to max all of them out,). Being able to built everything that's in the game (hopefully, in the future, even houses?). One extra thing that would be nice in FE would be the less pre-determined form of crafting, in the form of item variables, based on raw mat, skills etc. Ryzom is a shining example for this. If this would be incorporated, FE would be the hands down best crafting game in existence. But, development shall never stop... let's be nice and support these folks - I know I did, bought it already on Steam. DB Denial makes one look a lot dumber than he/she actually is. |

You are completely wrong.
Let’s say you started today and decided to fly assault frigates. So for 1 month you train all your primary and sub skills to V and bang, you’re ready to fight. So you decide to have a fight against me in the exact same ship and all. (just to make it extremely fair) Well guess what, even if I have 40 million skillpoints, it doesn’t matter. I am only using a few of my skills to pilot the assault frigate. Eevn if I have Doomsday device and dreadnaughts technology at my disposal, in my Assault frigate, it won’t matter. You’ll be an equal match to me and perhaps I’ll have a few 5% here and there over you but that’s rarely enough to make a huge difference. I’ll probably kill you by experience and knowledge but that’s something you’ll learn as you play. The only difference between me and a more advance player is the fact that he can probably fly more ships then me. I can fly every Gallente ships except the Dread and Titan and that’s by choice. I’ve seen 3 months old players kicking ass in PVP (group/solo). That’s the beauty of the game, a 1 day old player can completely turn a battle around if he’s well guided by a fleet commander.
