Since a majority of the server have a signicicant line to get in, it doesnt take long to realize that if you open a shop and afk instead of logging, youll avoid a wait to log back in. This is retarded. They have a broker, why clog up the servers with people sitting idle, selling overpriced crap. I understand in asia they love the player shops, but its one of those things that is super annoying, and in aions case, very fustrating with server lines. This is why i hate faction based pvp, lines on popular servers to help population balance issues, dividing the population in half (not being able to level with or chat with opposing side)... A simple DC in aion right now could mean hours before you can log in. Why dont we ban afk shops for a few weeks? Less clutter in game (yeah that f2p look with the player shops + gold farmer whispers) More room for players. Hell give a 1 week xp bonus for eylos or a testosterone patch. Wasted my whole head start and looks like its going to be hell to play after work on the weekdays. Anyone else up for a temporary ban on afk shops? And how many of you afk to avoid server lines? I know i did it for 6 hours overnight ( was dc'ed after work though) |

It's a cause and effect thing. I'd be all for disabling the private shops for the first couple weeks of the game to be honest. |

thats what happens when you flock to the Heavy server populations when there are other servers with no lag, no wait times |

I'm all for removing player shops permanently. There is really no need for them. "Granted thinking for yourself could be considered a timesink of shorter or longer duration depending on how smart..or how dumb you are." |

What is the contribution of afk shops in the queue though? We don't know. They may be a factor, but then again they may not. |

I for one agree with the personal shop ban; I'd even go as far to say they should totally remove them. People set up the shops and then go afk for several hours (either to avoid those queues or just to sell shit), the auction house was made to serve that purpose. Unfortunately, when people do that, they're ruining the economy of the game. Overpricing, or even underpricing. You would think underpricing isn't a bad thing, but think of it from your own point of view, i.e. when you want to sell something. Profits just decrease and everything is worth shit. I've played other mmo's where the auction house system worked perfectly. It's not really working as of yet in Aion. (I've been playing since head-start.) I'd put stuff on the auction house to sell (after reviewing the market prices), but within a few hours, someone else has already put up that same item with a price that is 50% lower, and then everybody follows and in the end, that item because worth nothing, which defeats the purpose of farming I guess. But I degress. Anywho, personal shops = fail |

Blizzard is watching this and laughing their asses off. So much for another 'WoW-killer'. I guess everyone in the industry who isn't a moron is already working for Blizzard. "" Voice acting isn't an RPG element....it's just a production value." - grumpymel2 |

Personal shops are great. I also think the lines suck, but to ban it, or completely remove it? No. The starting areas have no Broker, so it is their only way to sell things off easily. Also, the main idea that I have always seen behind player shops is being able to set up shops in more remote areas. Selling potions, bandages, skills, etc out in the field, so that people can buy them without needing to go back to a town. You charge more, because it is convenient. Just like in real life. You have the stores like Wal-Mart that sell things cheap, but you have 7-11 and other convenience stores that sell things more expensive, because people would rather get in and out fast, and it is closer to where they are. So, as far as the economy goes, I would say that it helps it, because it allows entreprenuership. Buy a stack of 10 bandages for 40, then go and sell them for 50 a stack somewhere else, or something to that effect. |

I understand that people don't want to sit in front of their computers when they have a shop open, but there should be some time limit.

That they don't know what they are doing? It seems to me that they do, they've set a target (server side balance) and sticked to it, no matter the issues. |

Or maybe after 5hrs of stall they could make a message popup to see if your active (something like the crafting maybe?) else they disconnect you. |

Well, shops are by definition an afk activity, in my opinion. What really matters is what's the load to the server from the afk shops and if somebody creating the afk shop releases a line in the queue. Things we don't know. |

If i m not mistaking crafting has a popup window that you have to input words or numbers in a given time to see if your active, if you dont do it you will get a buff or posion forgot and cant craft for an hour or something like that. |
