Originally posted by eddieg50 except fallout 3 is much easier and hey they have a manual and a real turtorial I seem to be getting into just as much shit in FE as I did in FO3, yeah the customizations and character skill system is easier to understand in FO3 but also limited compared to FE. That is a Single player game designed for consoles. I thought FE had a manual? I downloaded my copy I'll need to ask my buddies at gamestop if it does or not with the boxed version. Manuals aren't too good for MMOs anyway since the games always change anyway. PLaying: EvE, Ryzom Waiting For: Earthrise, Perpetuum |

That's something I didn't know. I only started playing Ryzom in August '08 im not a four year old vet like you guys :) I still would rather the open ended tutorial rather than the more themeparkish one they have now. name one MMO online game that has an up to date manual? you never will, in mmos features come and go so drastically there is no point in writing a manual as it will be obselete by release.
When wow and eq2 , lotro, v anguard and olthers came out they had very good manuals, yes wee know that the game may change but at least start out on the right foot especially if you are going to charge 50 and 15 a month |

For the record, the developers have already stated they are going to extend the tutorial some time soon to cover more things, and be less abrupt when you get to "the real world". But please do, as you have evedentialy played the entire game, or you would not logicaly be able to make this statement: "Tutorial very polished, main game not so much" So, please expound on how you came to this conclusion, and how the game is unpolished at level 45. We all eagerly await your views.

wow and eq2 manuals may have been very well written but was not accruate to what the game entailed upon release that is my point. LOTRO i never really payed attention to as i got tired of that game pretty quick, but my point is it is a waste to write a manual just have it outdated before the game is released the way FE does it works much better having ingame /support commands for their knowledge base, a volunteer hazmat team etc, etc. |

But only the ignorant and the fanboys say things like "it is awesome that you apparently know nothing of the game" yes this is America I can give my opinion, the fact is the tutorial is much more polished then the main game and FE is being misleading by using that turorial-next |

Your thread title, is not a question, it is called a statement. A statement in that you said the entire "Main" game is not polished. Please tell us about your journeys and all the many facets of the game. After all, you have played and seen it all yes?

When they came out they were 90% accurate, and they explained things like craafting, FE is a much more complicated game and as such needs a maual weather it is online of paper |

My thread title is a question and a statement , can you see the question mark , do you know what a question mark is? I write that when i camne out into the main game everything looked congested and bland, where did you see that i said that after 45 hours everything is bland? get you eyes checked dude, if you are just about insults what are you? |

No, I am quite responsive, and very helpful. I also do not see where I said anything about 45 "hours". Sentences can not be statements, and questions by the way.
The very first NPC you talk to after the tutorial, tells you about crafting. |

Whether or not a manual is needed the community ingame is very willing to answer any questions some may have, as i said there is a community hazmat team there to help new players as well as GM's. You also have the knowledge base by /support you can even browse the forums ingame as i found out last night. |

Heh easy guys Maybe the game just isn't for the OP. Some folks can't get past the graphics others dont like being plop'd down into the world with no direction. (Shrug) I will say to the OP though if the game isn't for you, maybe just move on. There is somthing to what everyone was saying about spending a couple hours on a game this complex and deep and then posting a negative opinion of it. You really didnt scratch the surface. |

This is exactly what gives me some kind of hope for the game in the future... The idea is there. The background work has been done. It's just not polished yet, not ready for release. I just hope they can pull it all together before going under, because I'd really like to give it a chance some day. |

The game is a lil rough around the edges so come drop back in around the 6 month mark and see if its for you at that point. FE just needs a lil time to grow into itself is all. Us early adopter types are used to this though so to us it might not seem like an issue either so dont take any of the feedback as being rude. I think the MMO community as a whole has just come to accept certain truths. |

I didn't feel the same as many in the thread, I absolutely loved the tutorial but I had no mis conception that the game would all be that way. I have only been past tutorial for about 3-4 hours but I knew what the game was before buying it. The tutorial didn't give me the wrong impression it just helped me learn the controls, ui and basics etc. Anyhow can't wait to play tomorrow. ----- |

ive been looking into this game and read this post. from most of the complaints here, it seems people are pissed this game isnt hand holding them through every single aspect of the game. heaven forbid you actually had to use your brain and figure something out on your own. i know it can be hard for some people, and those people should just quit the game it seems. |
