So basically, they have pushed patch 3.2.2 out as we speak, and it is slowly downloading after a week full of trojans on the official website. An obvious attempt to cripple games that have recently released, at a time when they have yet to even fix the content they have released (heroic toc bugs, brewfest.) I'll be personally paying atttention to see how this pans out, specifically how bugged they make Ony and the class changes they have pushed live without adequate testing. In other words, patch 3.2.2 is now live, 2 months before the original projected date..2 months of live testing of an unfinished patch. Enjoy! Oh..and just so ya all know, I play the game every day, though sometimes it seems like more of habit than something I do for fun ^^ |

3.2.2 is minor patch, with few bugfixes and few changes, apart onyxia ,there is nothing in it more or less, i dont see how it can cripple anything
as for too early ? 3.2.2 was never supposed to be released on 11/xx , not enough testing? minor patch on ptr for over month.. how much testing do you actually need?
there are no brewfest or toc bugs you speak off.. even if there are.. releasing bugfixing patch is CLEARLY A BAD THING ? |

Rofl...2 months? That would destroy this season of arena as well. |

This is NOT a minor patch. In fact, it doesn't even fix the brewfest quest turn in bug with drohn's distillery, nor the one that causes the 5 man toc faction champs to refuse to enter melee combat and/or despawn permanently, nor does it fix the bug that plagues many realms who cannot hit the dark iron dwarves in brewfest with their mugs. Do your research ebfore replying, don't make me do it for you, my friend.
now to the 2nd person to reply, you've got a better idea of the way this is shaping out, though missed many changes forced out early without proper testing on their impact. |

It's not minor, but my point still stands. |

gotta tell ya, it's gonna take a whole lot more than a buggy , re-hashed content patch to cripple the competition atm. |

yes we know there are bugs with brewfest but this patch was in testing for other things way before, i doubt they were even looking at brewfest. so they will either have to fix things while the servers are down now or just say screw it. but unless you can prove otherwise this patch was released when blizzard decided to release it, i find it funny these so called other mmo's that are coming out are releasing on a blizzard maintenance day. As for how long its been on the PTR's its been over a month now, maybe longer, i'll have to check...either way they never said this patch would come out in November, they just said they are revamping Ony for blizzs 5 year anniversery. Sorry to butt in but things don't quite add up: Current Patch Notes:
Public Test Realm Patch Notes I`m currently at work so I can't launch the client to check this, but the website still states that live version is 3.2.0. Better to be crazy, provided you know what sane is... |

Seems, if anything, to be more of a pve patch than pvp, with a couple pvp changes that were tested extensively..and many that were not. Highlighted important information, nerfs/buffs etc. And to the people claiming that this wasn't pushed out early to hurt Aion, one need only look at how they forced out this entire EXPANSION to block other games from taking their playerbase...god I remember when wrath launched. Worst lag/bugfest ever.
Btw, Its currently downloading the patch as we speak, Beer <.<

To be honest, beastcleave is literally a team composition / spec for facerolling. Instagibbing an entire opposing team in a matter of seconds was likely never intended. Also, warriors can stack ARP to roughly 90% passive with no sunders at top end gear/gems, and that was definitely NEVER intended to occur. Warriors are physical damage dealers, and physical damage - armor = too damned high. Theyre not casters ya know =p |

How could the OP's opinion possibly be correct when blizzard doesn't even have the patch info as their first entry on their site? Sure doesn't look like they're trying hard to draw attention. If they were should we be suprised? Angered? |
|
|
Generally Blizzard doesn't post new patch info until the servers have had extended maintenance declared or come online. Anyone who actually reads their forums or plays the game itself can easily see the patch has arrived. Blizzard downloader updates much faster than their website when it comes to breaking news. In short, the info is not up there on their site yet because the patch was not planned to release this early. However, the downloader is currently downloading and installing the patch, while displaying the patch notes. |

It was a marketing ploy but you are missing the point they can get new guys whenever they want but giving old players and current subscribers from even taking a look by offrering new little toys early is much better than trying to get new guys to come in

Of course Blizzard responds to the competition. I can't see much evidence that this patch has much to do with the Aion or CO releases. However, it looks to me as if: - When the main competition looked like it would be guild wars, arena was added - When the main competition looked like Warhammer then Wintergrasp and SoTA were added. But so what - any decent business responds to the competition. And if the competition can't cope with that, then it's their problem, not Blizzard's. |

For one, the same people who are checking the forums are the ones checking the official website. Second, the American version of the WOW website is notorious for having slow updates, poor CS, and many other things such as viruses and trojans. Finally, word of mouth among gamers travels pretty quickly; you'll remember that most of the info that has ever been released by Blizzard was leaked up to a year in advance, and well known within a day. |
