Lvl 54 in 24 hours, I would doubt it. Even if u play 24/7 and grind at the optimized XP....still not possible....buuuut. The thing with L2 is that the grind gets...harsher ....harsher...and harsher. Sure most game is like this but for L2...for example: from lvl 1-72 you need 550 million XP and from lvl 72 to 76 you need 400 million XP.....almost as much as from 1-72.

Conclusion: The real hard grind starts at lvl 72+. Sooo happ y hunting to get there!

Could be that they talked about soloing RBs, only done it to level 40 so not sure how good it works after that.

I made lvl 1 - 20 in ~ 1h

classchange and 1st Kamaloka lvl 20 -  22 ~25 min

then its about 9  RBs if I dont remember wrong ( info can be very wrong ) to level 40

And how long that takes all depends on if they are all up.

So perhaps with the appropiat gear, buffs sws BD cov etc one could go 54 in that time if one found all the RBs up, not sure

Anyone saying that your stupid for picking L2 over Aion should commit suicide, cuz its 2 totally different games and imo L2 is a more mature game where you dont have daddy holding your hand all day, but thats just my opinion.

Not trying to hijack this thread and i know there's already one dedicated to this but.... Does anyone have a trial key they could hook me up with? I just D/Ld the trial from Fileplanet and set up a master account but i didn't get the actual key code. If anyone could help me out that would be great as i'm really wanting to give this game a shot.

Sorry i dont have a code, but just saying that if you try it you should give it a few days before judging it imo. : )

Lineage 2 was to date the best MMO experience I ever had.  I began in CB and played it on and off until 2006.  Highest level I got was a 60-something Hawkeye (Americano).  Amazing PvP and territorial conflict (if you played on Sieghardt, that is).

...well...I'm not sure I like it. I know I should give it a bit more time, but there's stuff I really can't seem to get used to.

The game seems ok in most ways...the graphics are very nice, but I'm not getting comfortable with the movement system, and most stuff are rather hard to get into. I also hate the questing system, but quests in this game seems few and far between, so that's ok I guess...but I haven't seen one...ONE...other person since I started, and that is the one point that is really putting me off, since I play mostly for the social aspect of an MMO. Where are all the people...hehe.

I'm going to keep playing it in the 30 days that came with the game, but I'm not sure I'd subscribe unless it becomes better as we go. I guess I'm asking you to tell me that it becomes much, much better as soon as I get a bit further...

L2 is probaby and arguably one of the best games out there. You just have to change your paradigm a bit and try to understand what the game is about.

First of all, there aren't many quests in L2. Oh, it does have them but it is not a questing game. Having said that, recent changes have made it so that you should do all the quests in the starter areas as it will jack up your lvl quite a bit.

When I first started playing it took about a week to get to lvl 20. Now you can feasibly do it in a full solid day but you have to do the quests.

Afterward you then are faced with the main mechanic which is grinding mobs. However, what you might not realize is that lineage 2 a clan based game. grinding mobs in an area means that you have to be strong enough to keep that area if someone else wants it.

Also, it seems that the heyday for the random pk'er is over. It used to be that higher lvl players would hold the new player areas hostage so that new players couldn't leave.

The game was a lot more harsh in its day.

I highly suggest you play on a populated server (my old server which merged down to Phoemix is/was very populated) and that you get into a good clan.

Also, go to Giran and Aden to see more of what the population is like. As another point of note, dion should have a few low lvl players.

And remember, Lineage 2 is not about logging in and doing a few quests and having a good time. Lineage 2 is about keeping territory, clan wars, sieges and avoiding griefers and gankers.

It is a pvp game pure and simple. regardless of its current population. So most of the game mechanics revolve around that.

edit: I'm also going to ad that if players have played diablo/diablo 2 or heck, even neverwinter nights, then you will have no problem playing Lineage 2. Those games are click to move just like L2.

L2 was best during C2-C3...trains, clan wars in The Cemetary and around it.
Man, that was so fun, and it wasn't even "ZOMG UBER MMORPG". But in its own way, it delivered the most fun I ever had by playing this genre.

QF undeniable truth =)

subclass made mad (skinny elf with dragon slayer wtf?), bots drove me crazy, kamael made me slam the door (my perfect lore fucked up ¬¬)

but the feeling of those sieges wil never forget =)

I agree... C3 is right around when I feel L2 finally settled into being a good, solid MMO. After a few false starts between Prelude and C2, when C3 hit is when I found the game enjoyable and it kept me interested/entertained. I'm not a fan of some of the changes they've made since then, though - particularly the more recent ones since Gracia. Some of the clan politics and resulting wars over the years have been epic.

Despite all of its flaws I think L2 really did hit the nail in the head when it comes to PVP and politics, and there is still a healthy population on live servers, I know EVE has very intricate politics but I never really got to that stage and I am more of a fantasy guy.

Vitality + faster XP + doing a few raid bosses at the right levels = very possible to hit that level in 24 hours.

They've dramatically sped up the low-level game, up to 60. If I'm not mistaken, newbie buffs are available up to A-grade, and I think they're expanding them to 75. The high-end levels are still a slow grind... quite possibly as much xp between 70 and 85 (if not more) than there is from 1-70... of course you also get more xp per mob at the higher levels, so it sorta levels out.

I started playing L2 again and... I dunno... I think this game is superior to Aion, even in the lower level game. Not because they've increased leveling speed, but just that the world feels much more open (well, because it is :-p), much larger and less "guided".  The classes are more interesting to me as well. World PvP without pre-defined factions makes it more exciting overall too.

Re-activated my account last night, got into a party at about 9PM on my main, did a raid boss... died to it twice... de-leveled... got the level back after the rb was dead and continued xp'ing 'til we got PK'd by a random high level player (their ally is leaving the server reportedly, so they're just "having some fun" before they do)... switched to a Phantom Summoner I haven't played in forever and helped some clannies do a Kama, which was fun. Got back on my main, set up shop and went to bed at about 2AM. That was about the most fun I've had in a relatively short time in a MMO in a while.

L2's got its problems... botting/RMT and such... no denying that. But, hook up with the right people and it's still a damn fun MMO.

man this game is like 6 years old, should of done some research before buying it.

on the other hand lineage 2 is a way better game then aion, so if you already bought L2 i wouldn't buy aion.

1-75 = 75-78 exp wise.

And probably even less now with this lawlercoaster vitality we get in the next update.

Well since INT L2 got easier and easier.

I mean when i first got on L2(C3 release) it was fun but quite hard.

Now you can quite lvl up fast to lvl 40 or 60.

I mean you got plenty of good quests to do. Newbie Buffs. Coupons for itemz.

You can buy kind of all C items from shop low B grade itemz.

So leveling up to 50 is quite easy. IF you know how to play and have the time to do it.
