from the way it sounds, yep pretty much. It's the reason why I think many are interested in it.

All I care is progressive character development and a good amount of team work. I won't hold it to the game developers if the game world is a bit lacking or not, I just want good player interaction with friends. Basically a really good co-op game, not many around for my tastes.

Hell this game plays more like PlanetSide or Tribes but on a smaller scale.

HiRez has done 0 marketing. All they've done is relaese information and footage of the game they're going the way of viral promotion. Which crowd this game runs into is up to us. Personally I've been GA spraying all over L4D and TF2. People either ask about it and I send them to the website or they already know about it and we do a virtual high five. :)

The game has PvE content. A good bit of it apparently, and it isn't just run and gun type of stuff, various enemies etc.

PvE are you and 3 other buddies breaking into some Common Wealth facility and breaking all their robots. There are sevral levels of difficulty and they are really quite challenging. It's still pretty early on for them and I can't wait to see what they do to them next.

I don't see PvE becoming much of a part of the meta game PvP, other than a means to get enhancements to make your agent more powerful.

 I did quite a bit of pve testing.  This past weekend we got to test the topmost difficulty, and it was somewhere on the order of Halo Legendary (but with 4 people).  Like Zukan said, they are still messing with pve, but its good fun.  

ATM pve is more of a crafting/upgrades farmwhich i suspect is done on purpose to give ava bases upgrade components.

FYI, viral marketing is marketing. Many companies do it.
