Doubt it Which should make for some good entertainment on the forums. 1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical. 2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself. 3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose. |

Survive, sure. They will most likely get the crap beat out of them for the first 30-45 minutes, but they will live to see another day I'm sure. The ppl that should be most worried are the Lineage 2 player. Been horrible lag on their servers since the betas started with Aion. |

I defenitly hope that the boat's gonna float, because my inner feeling is that we'll be getting AT LEAST a huge queue time to get in (what i mean is something like 20-45 min trying over and over to log in) and AT WORST the login server will go down a few times before everyone can get it. But as i said, i hope it'll survive. Still, my answer must be : NO. ----------------------------- |

First, you'll be required to try 30 times to log in, along with the few hundred thousand others at the same time. Game servers I think will hold just fine - but regardless of if they do or don't, the game will be unplayable for the first few hours. Not due to lag, but due to 6 billion people standing on top of your quest. :)
I only visit the forums to ride the "Hype-to-Hate" roller coaster of every new title. |

If they were smart, they would make us download a last second patch, keep the download speed real slow and allow people to trickle in that way. Any bets? |

Considering what it was like at the opening of Open Beta... I don't have high hopes. However, I didn't have high hopes for AoC either, and they opened up headstart with no server crashes, and little lag. Was a big shocker, even though they were a bit late, and had some downtime the next day, but the opening was nice. Hoping for a repeat with Aion. |
