Aion has fulfilled my dream of being able to play a bug-free, content-full MMO... at launch! I know right?

You are not playing it at launch if you are just starting. Not saying you should not enjoy it, but...not launch. I am sure it had problems at launch just like everything does. At long last I can play a midget with freakishly long legs, a proportionally tiny head, and a giant gut. I can now die in peace. |

The point is that the engine has been running with players for nearly a full year. It should be bug free. It has been out so long that they have added content patches. That is why it is bug-free and content-full. It is disingenuous to say you are playing a bug-free and content-full launch when the game has been out and in post-release development for a year. I am not saying it is not a good thing that there is a AAA game that is newly available to the West. If nothing else, it sets a new standard for character creation, model design, and overall graphics and art quality. But this is not a launch. It is very important to remember that when discussing the level of polish and quantity of content. I do not want people to read posts like yours and then compare games that really are just launching to Aion, because they will likely be displeased. And as I am sure you know, when some of these picky, easily-disappointed, easily-distracted players are displeased with a launch, they cry "FAIL" and go elsewhere. That reaction from people (which, I could write an entire other post about how annoyed I am with such childish behaviour towards games and the hard-working people behind them) has caused several games to fail in actual fact in the past. So please, do not confuse the facts so that you do not confuse others. Remember, many people here are children and easily confused/swayed by others. no that does not make the american release the games launch. the launch was in korea, and it probably was all fucked up. this isnt a launch for us, it is ncsoft expanding the games reach just like when wow releases in different countries, its not a launch for them cause the game has been out here forever. |
