I've tried/played just about all over them and there are three that i can think of: Everquest, Aoc and lotr.I still play wow but i'm bored to death with it,the only reason I continue to play is because my woman and i play together and she won't play any other mmorpg's. |

if there was a game i think i would try again it would be EVE i played alot in the past, i was a miner and i got myself into a small scale corp. i used to supply us with everything we needed for our Player Owned Station, ( iso's, mins, ect ) i was flying a hulk and a mak. i quit after alot of my friends left and i got my hulk poped and then pod killed. i just couldnt take the fact that i couldnt do what i loved, mine, and make any real money at it. i had friends that had 1/10th the skill time as me making 10x the money i could doing T2/T3 missions in battleships. now that there has been some changes i think i want to give it another try, and try to get into a new large corp that does low sec space... anyways i would try eve again.

Of the walked away from and now kicks arse... AoC. Not even funny the progress they've made. Problem is new games keep coming so its difficult to revisit when I can visit for the first time ;) |

I was thinking about giving EvE another try as well. I think the first go-around I was just overwhelmed with all the options that were available ingame. I guess I was trying to apply 'conventional' mmo rules to something as unconventional as EvE. Once in a while I do think about giving Age of Conan another chance too. Unfortunately my current rig is now not liking the graphics card I originally installed to play the game and the integrated graphics is just too low to run it. I wonder if my PC is trying to tell me something about retrying AoC... Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. - Marie Curie |

I wish I could say SWG, but the SWG I want to play doesn't exist anymore. :( |

Since SWG Pre-NGE is not an option, I would go with Vanguard: SoH. If Aion doesn't cut it then I will probably get together with some friends and start dungeon crawling. |

Originally posted by Dreamion yeah i tried vanguard and my first impressions were i thought it was pretty cool but i don't think i'd be willing to go back unless i had at least one buddy willing to do it with me.solo it kinda sucks |

Planetside. It has elements of many different games that just appeal to me. I stopped playing when my second computer couldn't run it (Blue Screen of Death) and since then I haven't bothered. I'd play again like many others, but only if they dropped the sub fee or made SOME kind of change or form of progress. Explore that world first, then we'll talk about this virtual one." |

Join a corp in eve. Seriously. Sooner the better. Once in a lifetime gaming experience to be had..don't miss it. Games I would try again.. EQ,AOC,potbs, Vanguard, WAR, Darkfall, Ryzom, AC, UO and swg. All would need either changes or brought up to date. So pretty much all of them if they did what I liked. |

I had given up on Ryzom, and tried it again over a year later when I got bored one day. It "clicked" the second time and I'm still playing it. Out of the games I've played and would try again, I'd say EVE as well. I've actually stopped/started EVE 3 times in the last 3 years. Each time I try it, I stick with it longer, but I still can't stick with it for the long haul. Current: None |

Maybe AOC or War some day, but I'm not sure how they could change in the way that I'd subscribe to them for several months in a row. AOC won't have more starting areas nor won't it ive quests outside the starting area the same quality (with voiceovers and stuff). With the expansion it might have zones that are a bit larger and without that many invisible walls, but I'm not sure... About War... I liked the game. It's not bad. It just didn't hook me, and I'm even not sure why. So I'm not sure either what would have to be added to the game so I'd subscribe to it for a longer time. Maybe I'll give the Guild Wars series another shop once the second part is released. I got guild wars somewhere but I don't have it installed and somehow it wasn't the right game for me. Oh, and maybe WoW. But somehow that is kinda past for me. I played it so much for so long, and now... I mean what would happen if I'd play it again? Either I'd get hooked on it again and play it a lot, which might be entertaining for me but bad for my social life, or I'd get bored of it, and then it would be wasted money. So I'd lose in both cases. ^^ Let's play Fallen Earth (from launch to present) |

Hmm.. this is an interesting question. I think like many people above I'd more then likely give EvE another shot. The first time I tried the trial I was just overwhelmed by the tutorial that it just kind of killed it for me. Maybe sometime down the road when I get used to my current schedule I might try it again. Really with all the other games when I tried them I played them for a few months and found out for sure that they weren't my thing and I never really wanted to go back. EvE was the exception I guess. No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga- |

Not one I gave up, but someday I want to try Vanguard. I saw a YT vid about housing. Looked kind of cool.

Alot of people are saying EVE. But, I just have a word of advice from someone who's been back and forth since beta. If you can't deal with the slowness in skill training & travel, don't waste your time. I've tried many many times, but I just can't do it. Don't get me wrong, the game is a beautiful game and has done so many things right when it comes to MMOs and the skill training system allows for a more open world environment, it's still there and it's not going anywhere. And the last time I played, travel was a little better with built in warp bookmarks, but that only works for manual travel and it still takes a very long time if you have to go 14 jumps or more. Like I said, it's a beautiful game and god knows I've given it shot after shot. But if your reason for giving up on it is the same as mine, then don't waste your time. If it's just the skill training that gets you, you can get over that after a little while though.
If neither of those reasons made you leave, wtf are you waiting for? |
