Thats like saying, oh plz ban all the keyboards that ahve F1-F12 buttons cuz you can spam them to use bots. Like i said absolutely retarded.
Don't forget everyone with a decent ping should have there bandwidth throttled to the lowest common denominator too! |

i never had an issue with GG, also i think people are paranoid if they truly believe your computer is an easy target for hackers just cause you use GG. i also never had problems uninstalling it. |

What do you suggest? 300ms limit? Half a second? Maybe go for a full second throttling? Maybe everyone should play on 300bps modems? That's what GCD and slop timers are for. (Aion combat doesn't feel 'crisp' with there daft post cast animations btw). Is a scroll wheel OK ? How about 5 button mouse? I guess everyone should be throttled down to 15 fps too don't want any advantage there actually better make it 10 to be safe. |

I am a patient man. I can wait a couple of months, which might be the time they need to definitely drop GameGuard (or not). BTW the disk going to retail might not contain GameGuard, because it can be installed with the patcher just as easy. |

One of the major reasons why I won't be trying out Aion is because of GameGuard and all of its rootkit-like attributes it has.
So are you saying that if one buys the retail game, the retail game in a box that was manufactured weeks ago, that NcSoft should go back in time in their magic Aion time machine and redo the production?
I doubt that will happen, but after you install it, it will update. You're going to have that last update anyway because I'm pretty sure they shipped 1.5 That would mean that your product would have it's GG disabled the same as the rest of us.
P.S. There are no such things as time machines, so I'm pretty sure I'm right on this one.

It is nothing to do with being elite it's your rediculous notion that every one should be limited to the lowest common denominator hardware and infrastructure. Macro's well thats a whole different debate and one that we are likely to agree on. I do suggest saving your allowance up and spending $5 on a 5 button mouse though. |

WTH is this? Sounds like a daycare center with all the crying. Most of you complain about GG but the only problem is, you will be crying in a month when theres spammers and bots running around and nothing to try to keep it down. Most of you who are worried about the root kit are usually downloading 3rd party programs or shit your not suppose to anyway. So cry more about Game Guard dont buy the damn game but all we constantly read is blah, blah, blah, bullshit, bullshit, bullshit, lemme get a napkin imma tear up if I dont get my way. Figure it out. |

This was probably pointed out before, but I didn't bother reading every post here, but the main problem with ANY program like GameGuard or Punkbuster or whatever, is that they only protect against whats known, same thing for virus scanners, and by time they update the found, something new has already been created. I.e. they're useless. "Life is not judged by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away." |

If you think otherwise you are frankly dillusional. All GG actually does is hurt legitamate users. GG is an egricious peice of software that is quite probably illegal in the US and the most of Europe. (my guess i that's why it has been disabled). It poses all sorts of security risks and 'breaks' all sorts of software and hardware. Whether you call it a rootkit or not is up to you but it runs in kernel mode and hooks into all sorts of processe it should not. If you are happy with that great. Nice job crying about the crying was the hissy fit above meant to be ironic too? I suspect not. |

As I said, as of two days ago, after the launch patch, it is not being installed. The GG folder in the Aion folder remains but GGs registry entries and system files/driver are not installed. -------------------------------- |

Going to have to agree, I am glad NCSoft dropped the GG. When I saw this in the CB, I wasn't to pleased. Again, nice move on their part. |
