Well Elyos is better designed compared to Asmodian. However, i have always liked to play the "dark side or dark races", which is Asmodian and i think most of the people has the same kind of thiking as i do. |

How don't people like you get it? Elyos are the "good" race. Kind, caring, bright, cheery, pretty, etc.. Asmos are the "evil" race, except in Aion they can be even more attractive (physically) in ways than the Elyos. They're dark, menacing (even their run looks like one of an evil being on the hunt), scary, tattered, and...scary. "Scary". So let's see. Say I'm a teenage boy. Which way do I go? Sunny, cheery, cloudy, flowery Elyos? Cold, dark, scary, red-glowy-eyed Asmos? Hmm, rainbows and ponies? Demons and dark angels (very attractive, large-breasted, sexy torn-clothed dark angels)? Yeah, I think I want to look like a caring, loving white ang......nahhh, angel of death for sure. If it weren't obvious enough from that standpoint, wait for (pre)release and roll an asmodian, then an elyos and then watch region chat on each for 5 minutes. Do it on the same server, even (delete one, then try the other). I did that, on multiple servers, in the beta. I've read the forums in numerous places at this point (server, race based, etc.) and I can very, very easily tell anyone out there that the "evil" side here is far, far more immature so far. Yeah, there'll be some good, quality, mature players/guilds on the Asmo side. They'll be the exception, not the rule. Personally, I've never been one to stick to the "good" side of any game, but in this case I'll make an exception. There's no way I'm gonna fight alongside all the 1337 kiddies I saw leveling my asmo assassin into the teens. I'd much rather be a bright, cheery, white-winged angel of awesome this go-around (loved it just fine on my ely cleric).
Edit: Nice day to join MMORPG eh Ice? (1-12-06 ftw). Made me double-take while re-reading the post. "The power of accurate observation is commonly called cynicism by those who have not got it."

I'm playing Asmododian. I tried both sides in beta and the the Elyos graphics are just too dismal and gray. I got an SLI system and I want to be blown away by the graphics. All the gray and brown looking zones on the Elyos bore me. This may not mean anything in the high end but I know leveling up Elyos to 15 in beta was boring and the colors were so dull. Normally I'd be a more dark side guy but the graphics are depressing. It's just the way they did it, I had no problem with the horde in WOW though my mains were Alliance. I'll eventually start Elyos on another server I'm sure, but launch I'm Asmo. |

Well, Shiymmas, in wow, the majority of the kiddies were alliance, so that kinda contradicts what youre saying, but i also agree that i the azmodians will be more atractive to the kids in this game..though ill be rolling an azmodian and im closing in on the 30´s...what am i saying..i must be confused :) on a side note: i dont hope youre right with the community on the azmodian side though...a bad immature community can kill any game for me.

I think to balance out the situation and the fact that I wanna be Elyos, I think I'll be the most beautiful lush side. The Elyos, doesn't mean that I'm the good guy, it only means that I'm the beautiful guy. ROFL! |

I ll proberbly play Asmodian simply because I wish i d rolled a Horde in my first year or two in Warcraft . I ended up playing Alliance because people i knew had a guild . It was a big mistake in the long run as the kids all seamed to flock to being the good characters . So if Aion follows a similar trend then we ll see the Asmodians dominating in pvp . Not that kids are bad players but they dont think tactically or play well as a team . |

prove this. It's pretty damn apparent. Play on both sides on any given server and alliance pretty much take the crown for general douchbaggery ![]() |

I have to disagree with you. I've been playing AION since the first closed beta, and I've played both sides extensively and on a couple different servers. I have to say that the Elyos side seemed far more immature than the Asmo side. It reminded me of WAR, where I rolled order only to be confronted with a tidal wave of Kiddies. Also, if you take a look at the LotRO off topic boards you'll see a good portion of the LotRO player base that plans on playing AION are rolling Asmo. That may not mean squat to you, but the LotRO community is one of the more mature MMO communities out there. I guess we should try another poll ....

Players come for the game, but they stay for the people- Most Devs have forgotten this. |

Actually, even Lani has stated that there is no 'good' or 'evil' and that it's just a matter of perspective. To some the Elyos are an arrogant, distant, culture that is fully prepared to commit genocide on their enemies in order to enact their will. |
