I really liked in WAR how you can que up for pvp anywhere at any time

will this be available in aion launch ?

 Anyone have any idea ?

Never heard or read of such a thing in AION.

No there are not mini games... level up to 20 and go pvp for real.

no queing up you go into an area with rifts or the abyss and you look for people to kill

(on occasion enemy faction people make it from a rift zone to a zone without rifts)

I played open beta where there was no PVP. what do you mean by "real pvp" are there contested lands ? Arenas ? battlegrounds ? or what ?

or are we to hunt players outside their home cities ?

I love pvp mmo's and dont want to waste my time on this if the pvp is going to be quick and care-bear like wow.

Its nothing like wow, I wont clame to know all like some do but from what I have read its more aken to DAoC in that there is a battery of zones which are PvP so I understand you could kill outside this area but there could be penalties depending on variables such as your level.

There are no "battle grounds" that I am aware of again look at DAoC there is hoever an arena in the cap city where you can jump in and mindlessly wack on people its not like we saw in WoW it literaly (from what I have seen and played) a small room where every player is your enemy there are 3 people in (least there was every time I was in) and you will die and be kicked out of the room no penalties and I saw no gain from it but it was fun . . . there is a quest NPC at the back of the room can be hard ot get to him lol.

The core of the PvP in Aion seems to revolve around a given zone your factions progress in this area opens dungeons so I understand for your faction (feel free to correct me) some what like DAoC I would assume but for god sake stop trying to relate it to WoW. WoW was/is a good game but its not the only formula in my experance its not even the common formula where WoW is the only succesful attempt of that model I have seen. Aion's mechanics over all are nothing like WoW at least not what I saw of it if your looking for WoW 2.0 you wont find it in Aion imo. 

The PVP is in the abyss. I can't believe you played beta and never heard of this? :) i did a lot of reading and research.. still do actually.  It's different than WH PVP in that a lot of the good hunting and items are in the abyss. So, there is a lot of incentive to go there, even if you aren't looking to PVP. But, my understanding is it will likely find YOU. :) I think it's lvl25 and above only, There are also keep battles to look forward to.  aion.ign.com/wiki/Aion_PvP

Based on my understanding from Korean reviews all end game zones are open pvp zones too. Makes questing a bit harder yet I also heard the end game zones are massive in comparrison to the starter zones which are linear tutorial paths teaching you the game.
 

There are no queues, battlegrounds, arenas, or the like.

If you want to PvP, you go to the Abyss (though you'll likely already be there, it's a major part of the game) or you find a rift.

PvP consists of keep battles (timeslot assaults, no keep trading), roving groups, ganking people questing in the Abyss, ganking people questing when there's a rift open to get to them (or getting ganked until you leave if you're bad), and some PvE encounters that the opposing faction can join in on if they want to try to wreck you. I may have left something out, but the gist of it is that most people going to be spending most of their time in the Abyss, which is a PvP zone, whether they're PvPing or not.

 Awesome fellas; Im definitely going to give this game a shot. Cant wait for the pvp..

I did play the last week of open beta; where pvp was closed. So i know nothing about it.

25+ - Abyss (open world) and rifting (going into contested enemy lands killing while they level, points given for killing lower levels) theres a whole ranking system that is pretty neat but I can't get into all that. Read up, enough PvP for you believe me. People won't be all spread out like in WAR either due to everything NOT queueing up for battlegrounds. It's like a melting pot of death.

just a quick note, you cant get to the abyss and pvp until 20 or 25 (i forget which). 

althought I haven't gotten there myself, I believe 25 is the level in which you can advance into the abyss, but I think it's the lvl 20+ zones that have rifts in them (rifts being dimensional gates that take you to the opposing faction's lands to duke it out).

At lvl 25 the first instance is presented as an introduction to fortress assaults in the abyss.

There is no queing button or waiting in line.  At lvl20 your lands will be attacked via rifts (works like a teleporter that pops up in the game world at different times).

At lvl25 you do a quest that will give you access to the abyss.  Above and below each major city (on both sides) has a teleporter that will send you to the abyss.  When you teleport there, it is an open world pvp area with 3 layers (lower, upper, and core).  The lower area has content for lvl25-30,  Upper and core has content for lvl30-50.  But all players between lvl25 to 50 can travel freely between all layers.
