I can harbor no ill will towards Darkfall. Bought a long term sub (3 or 6months), quit the game arbitrarily and they refunded my money quick. I may go back after they get things worked out. |

The hacks in darkfall are abundant, that is the reason I dont play anymore. Well that and the company behind darkfall. They left tons and tons of exploitable mobs in the games for quite awhile. They actually just removed some, but not all of them. With the uber skill gain patch. When I say exploitable, I meant to say the mobs just stand still and let you kill them at will. Sometimes you didn't have to do anything, the mobs killed each other. I could name 6 exploitable camps off, just on the rubi island. Only 2 of those remain, but the fact is they still remain. They didn't actually fix the spawn camp, they just removed it. So they left those camps up for how many months on the EU server and over a month in NA server. Just to remove them hehe... Grrrreat game with tons of potential. Sadly a terrible company is running the show. |

Playing Darkfall is like playing Call of Duty on a public server. |

I feel your pain. There is a recent surge in that pop in, steal a mount, teleport/-radar hack that seems to be used. Having played since beta, to EU then NA, I have had wonderful success in results to my /gm_reports. To be fair, you need to remember that because a player(s) is not immeidately banned, does not mean they are not being watched, and will be at some point. Also to be fair, it is often difficult to detect hacks, but not as impossible as the hackers have convinced themselves of. It only really takes enough reports and observations from the GM(s) unless their own detection devices identify it first. I can understand any ones frustration on this issue, but there is action and has been a reduction in cheating; just that different players have different levels of tolerance and patience, which is understandable.

hackers flock to games like darkfall and eve because they know theyre cheating makes you all the angrier when you get killed by a hacker. at least eve does a good job of blocking intrusions although good luck catching up in the skill learning curves in that game to be able to hold your own vs the fleets of 5 year rats ugh. |

Use the GM Report function. What I have seen with most every developer company (with the exception for the Shadowbane developers), developers never tell the public that they have fixed hacks. Think of it this way, the last iPhone update was hacked in 1 day flat. If an OS can be hacked in 1 day then a game would be much quicker. You can teleport hack (and sometimes worse) in just about any game out there. Its a constant neverending battle of bans and patches. That one website with hack programs that I will not talk about, has stuff for multiple games, not just Darkfall. They make money off of their stuff too. The definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. When will developers (and players) become sane? Now go eat some grass like everyone else. |

thanks for this thread, i was thinking of buying it, but was skeptical because i normally play F2P games. I was worried that I would be paying to have the same hacker noobs and abusers ruin another game on me. And it looks like that is what is happening here, so Ill stick to the f2p until someone gets it right with p2p. |
