Yup! Seems to be the norm, not the exception from what I've seen. Guess we need to understand that this site most likely gets revenue from MMOs (judging by the banners...duh!)...bashing their sponsors too much is probably what triggers it.
One of the mods is a person who frequents another site that was created to speak freely about SOE/SWG in particular without being censored, but locks, deletes or bans half the posts in the SWG forums here. |

What a joke. 1. You DO NOT KNOW 250,000 people. More to the point, being as you do not know 250,000 people, you can not possibly know 250,000 people that want to play pre-cu SWG. 2. No, they would not get WoW numbers. |

Yeah, all of my posts from this thread were removed, lol. Probably because one of them mentioned the emu and the others basically laid out what an idiot the OP was. So, for the record: emu, and idiot OP. |

The posts that were removed were not bashing the game so to the speak, they were bashing the op who was beeing a bit harsh imo, and also about him creating his acount yesterday. It was sugested that it was an alt.......weird. edit 2 prevent double post* Also some of my posts were removed and now its very hard 4 me to get into this thread. |

I would guess if they thought they could make some money off of it they would give it a go. |

SoE destroyed SWG, yet you are willing to pay them money again to return to you what they took away. Figured it would have been a sign, don't give this company your money. They can't be trusted.

I think, posibly the most valid argument that has been made yet about this issue. And i also think a point that will be ignored, by very possibly the next poster. |

In this thread, 23 or so posts were deleted. The way to tell is look at the number of posts on the page with thread listings, and then see how many posts are in the actual thread. And yes, the SWG forums here are currently being over-moderated, by the standards MMORPG.com used in the past. Especially in the Veterans Refuge. They either have a mod that is a big fan of the current game, or as a paid advertiser here, SOE complained about undermoderation on forums about their games (don't know how likely, but certainly possible). I would wonder how the forums of other SOE games are mod'd here, but I don't really give a crap about anything SOE does, so I don't care enough to look.

At one time I would have come back for Pre-CU, but now, SOE will never see a dime from me again. I have never seen a gaming company makes such boneheadedly wrong decisions, and tell such blatant lies. SOE is dead to me. |

I really do not think it is the sandbox of SWG we miss, it was the freedom we had to choose our fighting skills and the customization of our fighting skills that are missed. I mean we had almost 70 different ways that would could freely be unique in the way the combat of your toons were trained instead of taking a cookie cutter class and every opponent were almost the exact same challenge. No one knew if that bounty hunter was also a creature handler ready to turn a pet on your butt or if they were a Teras kasi master that would sweep kick you into oblivion. Freedom and Choice is the biggest thing I feel is missed.
Yes I would as well not mind paying to play Pre-CU again but I refuse to play that garbage they are trying to pass off as a game now, and yes I have tried it over and over and over and not gonna happen for me. |

If former players would still have that social playstyle they had with pre-cu they would already have been back to SWG in it's current form as the game still overs allot more MMORPG then any other MMO, sure several MMORPG might have housing but it's still very different then how it was/is with SWG, there is still allot of freedom except for those with a limited playstyle (see WOW clone players) Besides if you take a good look at this section you already know that many former players will not enter any SOE game. To me and in the now the game is in it's animations to dated which for me is the reason not playing anymore and obvious some "I want pre-cu back"people totaly ignore the issue's the game had in pre-cu. Like someone else said if they bring pre-cu back it should be SWG2 with a upgraded engine, stable servers, lots and lots of new content/planets. Bringing pre-cu back the way it was will NOT gain many players, some will enter again but I am sure many will also leave again cause many have changed so much in their playstyle which can often been seeen when some of the VETS return and speak about theri experiance which almost every time shows how limited they have become in their playstyle. ------------------------------------------------------------ |

I'd be willing to pay for it again, officially or unofficially. But a lot of time has passed. I don't know what my reaction would be to the game at this pont in my life. I loved the game at the time, but a lot of that was my friends, my city, my guild....my pet dog. |

I loved being able to keep a low profile until a situation warranted otherwise. To me that was almost as much fun as having unlocked a jedi back when they had to be elusive to avoid permadeath. I gave recent NGE a chance and although they've tried to include much of what PreCU gave, its still so diluted that there was nothing to make me want to keep playing. I can decorate a house on The Sims or many other games. I can grind up levels in a plethora of games. Im completely amazed (and basically disappoined) that no other current game has employed the skill point system, the ability to craft the same item but with differing results based on the ingredients' stats, or simply the mechanics in place that allow for a quality player crafted item to often be more desirable than a looted item (with the exception of end game content). Currently playing: the occasional FPS |
