Angel and demon wings, the deity called Aion, the chaotic place called Abyss, those can't be copyrighted names. If they are, then some company has the exclusive rights to religion, heh. |

Why don't you think? Statues like that aren't copyrighted material because they are used by MANY and were created during the Gothic Period in England. I can find OTHER bands that use those similiar statues on their album covers as well, are you saying they have the right to sue as well? |

Second, yes if they blatantly copied your design and logo, they can. |

Thats some freaky churches you've been to with a big neon 'AION' sign above them, next time you go let me know I gotta see it. But like I said I think they'd lose, tbh here in UK I can only view the eu site and I cant find anything on there (wallpapers, concept art, etc) that'snywhere near as good (or that similar) as the album cover. ----- |

I think suing is predominantly a North American thing, it is always on the TV over here, where it has a different view IMO in Europe. Therefore even if the band Aion knows I doubt it very much.

Seems like a pure coincidence to me, this seems like a really obscure band (I may be wrong ofc). Album art is... pretty bad to me. If authors of the game had some sort of an inspiration given from any music that has connection to the name Aion, then maybe it's Dead Can Dance album "Aion". Got some fairly famous tunes there, like Saltarello. |

You're not to big on reading. are you? Did you even look at the link? Buying and selling copyrights has absolutely zero to do with what we're talking about. Those copyrights are legitimate copyrights. Since the name of a band CANNOT be copyrighted, then there is no case.
Prior art? Maybe, if you could prove that the band Aion came up with those images. Unfortunately those images of angels and demons have been around a long, long time before the band Aion appeared on the scene. So you take yourself an angel:
Drop in a filagree gate
Add in your standard Mummy and you're done.

Bastil you're really grasping man... *everything* on that album cover is classic gothic angels and demons stuff.. plus it's a polish band. The polish are heavily religious. Even the gate is classic design.
And Aion is a deity...
No dice man. |

But Honybunny ...no, seriously that looks just like the art style of the game/band, I can barely tell them apart, my eyes have been opened. How is this difficult to understand. I could take that album cover above and stick on the main page of the Aion game and noone would bat an eyelid. Now if that was done with forethough and knowledge, that's called illegal and you can get sued for it. And even without the knowledge if a judge deems it to be similar enough they can be made to change it. A little clearer squidgytits? Yay dice man. As to the other guy with the individual photos; what couldn't actually find one with all those elements on the same shot even without the name? or the art style? or even an angel that looks remotely the same? thats gotta hurt ----- |

The gate design + angels are a bit classic... sorry to disappoint. It's also a polish band... these kind of images are popular there.
If you go into that link further you'll see plenty of catholic art depicting angels and demons with wings + the gate design...
Call the Pope he better sue Aion pronto! |

They can't and do not have the right to sue because if they did sue, then they can be sued for using Gothic Style art for their cover....The wings don't even look similar to that of the cover, the name of the band...big deal....the color...big deal. You can't copyright band names. Are we getting this loud and clear, honey? Or do we need to go through this again, like they taught you in class about how this style works. |

at least my post, unlike yours, has something to do with the topic discussed perhaps you should make a "Who do I think is a dumbass" troll topic and post there. |

We different font. VERY different. Falls well within the law (at least Australian law). Someone would have to be looking for a reason to hate Aion to think this is an issue. |

It falls under prior art and you bet you can sue for that.
then email the band and tell them to get the ball rolling. otherwise stfu and get a life. |
