I'm looking for a new game and I love love loooooooovveeeee the idea of a sandbox RPG, and really the only game right now that i can think of that falls into that category and has a proper setting for RP is Darkfall.

So naturally one cannot rp solo, or at least very well.... I'm wondering if Darkfall has a growing RP community? or if i should keep on moving and hope that some of the potential other sandboxes (SW:OP , Mortal) have RP.

Contrary to popular belief there were some RP clans such as Hyperion, Yew Militia, Old timers I believe....Dont know how active they are right now or if they are waiting for server transfers.

But 99% of the time you will get RPd by some shmuck killing you and teabagging you to increase crouch skill....that's RPing an asshole ganker - that counts right?

lol, gotta admit that doesn't really sell the game for me.... but i guess you can't escape douche-baggery on the internet. siiiiigh.

I'm very tempted to give it a whirl.... i guess worst case scenario i waste $50 or whatever it costs and just dont continue to subscribe.

 But RP is very different in DF compared to everything i have done in other MMOs. And im a "heavy RPer".

The thing is that is more for real in DF. In all other MMOs you pretend there is danger or scum around you.  But in DF everything is for 100% real. 

No point in RP fear, when you really are scared. Or you cant try and act like a tough guy and then two minutes later scream for help and mommy.

I would form an RP guild with you if you got the game, I am pretty new myself and making an RP community would be great! That is, if you are thinking about getting the Na client?

Daarco that sounds awesome... I want to be able to experience everything , it may may make my character a horrible fighter and pufter at first, but thats what makes a character a good character, depth, and what would cause more actual charcter depth then the character growing with the player.

I have found the Yew Militia and they interest me greatly, will attempt to join them, they are currently on EU servers though, and i will be on NA. with that said according to their website as soon as transfers are up, they'll be (some of them) making their way over to NA.

I wish you much luck in your quest to find a RP guild in DF. I thought a lot of them left when Hyperion went poof though. Yew seems like a good lot though. I dont know if interested but FE has a good RP community if it is something you would be interested in unless it is a fantasy or nothing type of thing.

Thats a tad harsh. There are some good lads who play this game and there was  a RP crowd at one time. Granted with all the douche baggery that exists it makes it hard but to blanket the entire 15k or so that play is off.

Dudes like this is the reason I wont ever play DF. I'd imagine the community alone is enough to drive me out in a week. Im not saying all but I'd bet a high % of players think their super "uber" and do nothing but gank people ingame...its too bad gaming companies can't get rid of [gankers] in MMOs somehow...only in a perfect world LOL

it works both ways hoss. i dont like your fanaticism and propoganda, and you dont like my opinion. I guess that makes us even.

P.S. My biggest beef with DFo has been the froth and foam fanbois. Even after you were all proven wrong pre release, you still wont shut it.
 

The main reason I havent posted much around here is that I was exactly right about everything i said about darkfall, even when you froth and foamers started name calling and chest beating, I stood my ground. Post release I didnt really feel the need to argue about it anymore. I was right the fanbois were wrong, end of story. However now I see you guys out and about STILL trying to bs people about the quality of darkfall. So I strapped on the old gun belt and dove right back into the battle. I am your nemesis fanbois, for every lie you tell, Im going to factsmack you.

I'm considering DF as an rp mmo, I'm not sure if I want to put up the money. I need some insurance that there will be a guild willing to accept new players.

I met a roleplaying crafter today.  No combat skills at all.  When they went to make stuff on the forge, they aligned themselves with the anvil.  They paid us good money to escort them, by foot, to another town too.
