All we've been able to play/see so far for the U.S. release is up to lvl 30. I know if all you saw of WoW was up to lvl 30 you would have a completly different view of it. Raiding and end game pvp are going to play a huge role in this game. A role none of us have had the opportunity to play. So STFU about your good/bad reviews of this game. In the end there worthless. |

Its getting bashed so hard because its popular and in beta, it willg et hit even harder on go live untill somthing else draws the trolls attention such is the way of MMO boards. I personaly like the game, best I have seen in a long time and thats saying somthing because there have been some very intresting titles in the past 3 or so years but this one might (not saying it will) but might be as good as DAoC even if not its worthy of the cost of the CE and year or 2 of my life. |

I'm not bashing this game, I would just like to say it's nothiing new. It feels like the same ol MMO that as been coming out for the last couple of years. It's hard not to compare any new MMO to WoW because of how successful it was...but to me, this game is just a prettier verson of WoW. I will probably play Aion until something better comes out...actually done. Skip Aion and play Champions Online, now that's a fun game :) |

People just hate new things?
I personally don't but a guess quite a lot of people do. Either that or the conspiracy theory that Blizzard is paying people to come on forums like this and flame new games that are a threat. o.0
I also really like Aion and plan to buy and play the game until SW:TOR comes out. It's the most polished MMO to be released in a long time. Veritas Vos Liberabit- The truth will set you free. |

Forget 30 levels, people bash Aion after playing 5 levels, its just what they seem to enjoy doing. Even though they've not come close to the PVP portion of the game, many posters see fit to pass judgement on the entire game and say, "its just like WOW" Yes, of course in many ways it is, and certainly the early levels of PVE don't bring us anything new. Its in the Abyss and Rift wars where this game will either shine or suck, and until those get going full bore and people get a chance to really experience it, I don't think you can really judge this game yet. Unless of course you hate PVP, which in that case you are in the wrong game.

The game sounds fun enough, but I had to give it a crapy score for my inability to actually stay in game. Actually playing is just fine, but I can't support a game that I cannot play for more than 5 mins at a time. I would love to try the game without Gameguard. |

I got a friend who loves playing WOW he bashed aion by barely even knowing what it was he even CLAIMED he played it.I can tell he lied so i guess what the person a few posts above said people hate new things.Or even hate things for irrelevant things that shouldn't matter when your playing.I enjoyed playing because of the polish my computer is extremely weak especially the horrible graphics card but it runs fairly well. Like pong i keep bouncing back and forth between games. |

its really just this site. Never base how good a game is through these forums. Either check the game out or go to g4 for a valid review of a game. |

People bash it because it's the new kid in town, maybe because of GameGuard, maybe because of the crashing, or not having played till 30 are just the few to name reasons. |

Well, the thing is that this game has a lot of players expecting something they had encountered in release WoW, only with shinier graphics and World PvP with incentive; the problem is that it doesn't quite fit the bill in terms of content and the lack of character customization along with linear progression leaves a bitter taste in some peoples' mouths. What will keep people playing Aion, however, is that it is very well polished, which is something neither AoC, nor WAR could boast about. Even if they are disappointed, they will keep playing, because it is their hobby and this is the best new item on the market at the moment. The lack of innovation and ridiculous similarities to the games we've all played before simply means Aion is open to bashing; when WoW came out it was bashed more than any other game on these forums: People came out of the woodwork to insult players and disparage WoW's copycat MMORPG. Aion is even less innovative than WoW was in it's time, so why expect anything else?
This is a sequence of characters intended to produce some profound mental effect, but it has failed. |

In the 3 years on those forums I've seen enough shit to scar people. Everyone makes like some 50 trolls b/c they don't have the balls to post on their main accounts.
So yeah... as for trolls/haters. Blizz forums all the way. Veritas Vos Liberabit- The truth will set you free. |

That is a great quote, but honestly MMORPG.com can moderate this stuff down more if they chose to. If this was a pay site, you'd see zero trolls and alot less stupid traffic. Momo sucks, I have proof. |

Considering the polish that Aion will inevitably launch with, it just shows you that some people will always find stuff to complain about, it's very sad sometimes. They don't take notice of the things done right and take them for granted (remember some countless other recent MMOs launches guys!), they rummage through every bit of information to try and find something to complain about. And what do they come up with? It's not revolutionary, adopts the same quest system as other games (which is already widely known) and... the art style is too eastern for their liking (duh?). The latency issue for some NA players in OB is a worthy one idd, however it is kind of expected and doesn't at ALL deserve all the commotion. Considering GameGuard however, it should die, no doubt about that!

I don't get why people say you need to play to end-game before you judge a game.
Why waste my time in an uninteresting carbon-copy world to see if the endgame is any good, which I highly doubt it is in Aion since its basically zerg pvp for gear grind.

Disregarding this korean ranger who soloed his way to glory, there are plenty of instances some with very interesting and engaging concepts that aren't zergs, in which you can get gear of the highest quality. Also some of the best gear in the game is craftable as well. All games are grinds, it's variety that counts and there are enough stuff to do IMO without getting bored in Aion.
I do however partly agree with your first sentence. People can only judge the things they experienced in a game, and combat mechanics, art style, questing system etc. fall into that category. PvP, customization, class balance, sieges etc. do not.
