Which is a load of shit, cause it's also affecting Destro as well. Then Destro will tell you it's because Praag came over to Dark Crag and gave Order a challange. So Order ran with their tail's between their leg's. Whatever reason... Destro now farm's Order on DC. Destro still has to kill the king though :P What about Skull Throne? |

I guess my definition of 'plenty' may differ to yours but if more then 700 or so people playing at peak times on a game like WAR that is plenty considering the population issues it has been facing.

I'd say with only a handful of servers left and still operating in this game, yeah.. your idea of "plenty of people" and Warhammer is completely different than mine.

Said by someone who makes their debate points by talking about someone else's eyes with snide remarks, lol. Truly a WAR fan.

Everyone knows War is losing players, just look at the server list. I remember when I was playing FFXI and WOW, both game were adding servers not closing down servers. Of course that was between 2003 to 2005, not sure about now. War was doing the opposite just in 1 year. It's like AOC, another game which I played like War closing down servers. The game won't die as long as enough people playing it and they still make money out of the game. Anything fail, they can change to F2P, like RFO or DDO, and they continue to live like roach can never be killed and live thousands of years.
Aion won't kill War, in fact Aion can't kill any games at all. NCsoft said they are happy if Aion can be #2 in the game market themselves. They are not looking to kill WOW like so many people claim that Aion wants to be.
Look at the preorder number (300,000 so far) which is only half of the preorder number compare to War (700,000 to 1M) and AoC (800,000). Aion is nothing compare to both games.
(I preordered all 3 games :P) AOC - played from May stop when war came out. War - played from September and stopped in May 2009, because I couldn't take it any more. Aion - will be playing from 9/20/09 possible until SW: TRO comes out but if SW: TRO turn out like all other crappy Sci-fi MMO, I will stay with Aion until FFXIV is out. Unless FFXIV is out first then forget about SW: TRO. FFXIV for the win :D |

Do you like branding people to specific groups, because no way am I saying WAR is perfect... it has it's share of problems like other MMOs but considering your negativity towards it you seem like a person who has nothing good to say about anything. Besides I have never compared other MMO's to WAR or bash them because they do not have WAR's features maybe some of the 'overzealous' fans (which inhabit every mmo under the sun btw) but they do that because they are looking for an argument. So are there any other assumptions you're going to make?

I dont think it will kill WAR, but most of the hardcore guilds are playing Aion. EL AoN provoked HoG so the end game pvp should be fun for what ever NA server you decide to join.

Well war was the biggest let down in mmo history for me, so i doubt Aion could be any worse. If i see paul barnet doing PR for Aion i will quit. |

War has jumped, spread it's wings and gone splat into the ground. Aion has yet to jump yet. It might do the same but it's unfair and pointless to predict whats going to happen. The key is going to be, how quickly they adjust and react to suggestions and trends. War had a great game but they didn't and don't listen to the player base. Only time will tell if Aion will be different. I really want to go back to war but I can't find a sold good reason to do so. I left early this year and it sounds like it's worse now! I did play the Aion closed and open beta and I'm going to give it a try for a few months, just like I did war. I had fun playing Aion but only got to level 13 before my video card craped out. I need a game to pull me away from WoW. But I think thats asking to much.

Originally posted by MMO_Doubter Warhammer is PvP-oriented, yet has far more replayability, due to 6 starting areas, 24 classes, and the option to PvP right from the start. If War is all that you say it is then why are we having this topic ? Replayability on dead servers, good luck with that. As far as pvp in Aion. Well to each his own I suppose, I prefer to do all my pvp in a open world pvp+pve at the same time. Top PVPer in aion is the one with the best K/D ratio at end game. You are not going to see a PVEer ranked in the top 100 by doing pve content only.

After reading all the posts,it's clear that more than half of the people posting in this thread have never played Aion.Whether some like it or not Aion will hit WAR pretty hard because Aion is doing what WAR was supposed to do in the first place. WAR will not die but will slowly shrink to Vanguard status with a few thousands faithful followers. Will Aion succeed?Only time can tell but as for myself I see it as a good game(polished at launch) which has brought back some challenges.NCsoft has added lots and lots of content(mostly PvE) with the latest patch. This game is worthy for what it is nothing more, nothing less. Last but not least,I will never go back to WAR.

But honestly I find AoC fun every time and I did Tortage (counting closed and open beta) probably 6-8 times. I would honestly rather play AoC to level 20 again and again - then play the first 20 levels in any starter area in WoW, WAR or Aion. The starter areas in WoW are totally a bore-fest. In Age of Conan you get involved with the world from the beginning. And there really are several ways to level in Tortage. ^^ This. No other MMO can offer that experience from a starting point and totally suck you in and really provide a painless revisitation. Funcom really did a fine job there.

He probably means the feeling of danger and war in the open world, plus the fortress battles and conquests together with meaning on the pvp. Apart from that a higher variety of endgame both pvp and pve, or pvpve in some cases. |

Most fantasy based mmos seam to be suffering at the hands of Aion to some degree . The real impact wont be known for a few months . |

Aion is nothing compared to war. Keep in mind that I dont like any of them. But if someone put a gun to my head, and made me choose, then it would be war... no doubt. ![]() |
