I have been watching Warhammer for the past few weeks go down dramaticly in both played minutes and number of Xfire users playing. Today is the lowest the game has been for a long long time. I personally find that a bit strange since the 1 year event is in full swing but ppl just dont seem to be intrested at all. Looks like Aion is hitting the RVR concept really hard - and AOC seem to be going the same way. What can Mythic do to change things around ? Is it possible or are ppl simply not into this hybrid of nothingness - in terms of RVR - PVP - PVE ? Personally - I just feel ashamed that a great concept like Warhammer was - has been ruined by Mythic. I will never ever look at Warhammer in the same light again. I just ... can't.

Fortunately, I never gave a damn about the IP. The way they blew the whole PvP/RvR concept greatly disappoints me, though. As for Aion? Meh. You can't PvP right from the start, and you can't level up from PvP, so to hell with it. It's going to be a sub-WoW PvE + sub Warhammer PvP game. Not to mention Game Guard.
I'm passing.

I would hate to see Warhammer go away. Warhammer universe >>>>> Aion. Plus it has the best Orcs/Goblins of any mmo. |

I may be blinded by personal preference, but I just can't see how someone would stay in Aion over AoC. I expect them to be back. With WAR it is a different story. AION is catering more to the WAR crowd I think. Those who leave WAR will not miss much in AION.

It's definitely not going to be the nail in WAR's coffin but might be in AOC's. Aion and AOC are competitors for the heavy PVE & medium PVP crowd. WAR is really geared towards those who like a little PVE thrown in with their PVP. |

In Aion you can't PvP for the first 20 levels which is about 10 hours of playtime and you do gain experience from PvP. Some people hate gameguard but I can live with it and there is talks about finding an alternative. |

You know after trying Aion I realized how good AoC really is. People say it is boring with only one starter area. But honestly I find AoC fun every time and I did Tortage (counting closed and open beta) probably 6-8 times. I would honestly rather play AoC to level 20 again and again - then play the first 20 levels in any starter area in WoW, WAR or Aion. The starter areas in WoW are totally a bore-fest. In Age of Conan you get involved with the world from the beginning. And there really are several ways to level in Tortage.

WAR has a great starter area! The quests are amazingly fun and it's in the lower levels when you have funny stuff happen to you (turning into a chicken when you level up past the PVP zone's limit, getting nipped at in the heels by a rat while battling a MOB, having confused destro players come walking into your starting zone only to be horribly slaughtered by the guards...). |

I think Warhammer has some of the best starter areas around. Tortage in AoC is great too but it got old after the first few go throughs for me. It would have been nice to have several different areas to start in AoC. No offense to Aion fans but I can't stand to play in the 1-20 level areas anymore. It's unfortunate that I can't get a refund on my preorder because I don't see myself playing it for very long. The most linear mmo that I've played to date. Maybe I can get a friend to level me to 20 there. |

Didnt play aion yet and sure it look cool but its not gonna kill war or beat wow... and while we seen every people so excited about aion, we sure to see hatred comment about it on every server really soon if it doesnt already start. I remeber when war was about to come, everyone told this game will be the wow killer and bla bla bla.... and look where we are today, a lot of people are loosing time to post the same old complain 'bout war...
Stop complaining and try to move your ass. |

At first, I feel the same since starting area is the same, quests are the same. But guess what each class play very differently from each other, unless you learn how your class work or you can like some people who just think "use pots" can solve everything, then yeah it's pretty much the same for all classes. Also, from level 1-10 only takes about 2 hours, it's hardly that much a problem. 10-20 is fairly quick but again I played 4 different classes and I was surprised how different that i have to learn the best way to defeat a mob and save my MP or HP at the same time, so no down time. Even Cleric and Chanter are played differently. Again unless you tried it or you would never know. Just an idea. |

Originally posted by teco221 In WoW, mage, priest, hunter and rogue play quite differently, but you also have the option of different start areas with different quests and dffferent home cities. In Warhammer, the classes fight even more differently, plus you can PvP to level right from the start. I think Aion clearly comes up short versus those two games as for reroll variety.
