I have not heard much from game on gaming sites, why did they set the price so high? Has anyone played the open beta to confirm this negative review? |

When i read the review, they only have one thing to point out, it's graphics (i just laughed when they said AION is FLAWLESS). I played the OB, and i somewhat agree with the graphics, it isnt spectacular, but it isnt that bad either. i mean c'mon, look at WoW they arent that shiney either. Besides it isnt the graphics that makes a game good. UO graphics was appalling and it was fun to play anyway.
It's not overpriced, 50 bucks + 15 monthly is somewhat of a standard price. |

FFXI is 15 dollars a month plus an extra dollar for each char you make on an account! |

Do I need to mention Guild Wars again? Ok i'l bite! Yes there is guild wars which I do play from time to time. I love the game but there is just something about it that I can't quite put my finger on that always makes me get annoyed with it after a few days of it. Maybe it's the raving greed and desire to spend real life money to become gods that most kids in the community seek. My nephew has become like this after playing the game constantly since release(He is prob in the top 10 best players in the world by now) and I can't even carry on a conversation with him any more lest I want to punch him in the mouth after about 5 minutes of trying.. lol He has spent hundreds of dollars buying money to buy in game items since release and he still see's a few people he says had to spend thousands of dollars to have the armor and weapons that they have ..it's mindboggling! |

I think one of the staff articles the other day mentioned pricing in relation to indie MMOs. 50/15 is standard for AAA titles. Why charge the same for an inferior product? |

I guess he should have said GOOD games... Not to mention, Guild Wars isn't really an MMO in the tradictional sense... and is not even considered one by its developers. Anyway, Ive played the open (and closed) beta of Fallen Earth. Its a decent game, and despite some lacking graphics (and possibly sound) it really is on par with all the other $15 a month games out there right now. It should be noted that with its sandbox play style better graphics would likely have made the requierments far too high for the game to draw a large enough player base to no do a Tabula Rasa and die right away. To be honest I can't really see anyone expecting a traditional MMO to not be $15 a month if it doesn't use some alternate subscription model such as Anarchy Online with its free to play, but with adds. For now, just be happy that its stayed at $15 for the last few years and hasn't gone up... |

I know, but I like to give people a hard time. Pirates of the Caribbean is made by Disney, which you could argue is a AAA company. Also, Planetside is by Sony. FFXI is big too, and even though Ragnarok Online is not a major name in the west, it has a pretty good fanbase in the east. Way better many years ago as well. |

Ok my bad , FFXI is 12.95 for 1 char now that I think about it but they seemed to always charge me an extra $1.00 for some reason that I could never understand. And I only had my 1 character... |
