Amongst the many issues I have had trying to join the Aion "Open Beta" here is an update for your records;

Became a minimum subscriber to Fileplanet
Joined Aion open beta
downloaded gameclien
NCsoft
and the game(took an entire day)

No where does it state you have to pay for anything or that you must have or buy a game key to play. You find this out after it is too late. Money is tight for many, Americans at least, at this time. For some gaming is the only entertainment. Before I would invest in any game I would like to try it first. With Aion this is not possible. Imagine how many customers you have lost. Fileplanet and Ncsoft have lost many as well. The entire experience for myself and many others has been a fiasco.
The icing on the cake....
Attached is a screen shot from my AVG system showing a virus found in Aion/NC soft.

Fileplanet!!! You should get a years worth of bandages (real, not game) for dealing with that.......place. By the way. I love your french. Fiasco is french.......isn't it?

even ad aware doesnt see anything wrong with it

Um ah don't think I'm the moron.  I have played many games and done open and closed betas...never had this much bs.  Didn't say you all had to agree with me.  this is FYI.  A game that comes with a virus is moronic.  Filepanet is moronic.

AVG is known for always finding something and calls it a virus when it NEVER is a virus lol..so thats pretty hilarious, if you want Aion to work...add Aion in the exception List on AVG...then redownload and all that..it should work lol...*shakes head*

It is a false positive. Some anti-virus programs get them a lot.

Hello, did you play other OPEN BETAS? What does OPEN BETA mean? "Another Closed Beta"?

I played many mmorpg's open betas, and it was like open registration through the site.

If you want to play Aion OPEN BETA, you need to buy preorder, suscribe payed site, or be one of 5000 free tickets.

It shouldn't be called OPEN BETA, it should be called Closed Beta v2.0

It's a shame of NCSoft for being so mean on money.

I was about to try a game and buy it, now i wont even touch a box of this game.

Yeah, right, clearly you've been in tons of betas if you weren't even aware you might need a key to activate a beta account.

What types of games you tried? F2P OR P2P? there's a difference you know?

F2P let's everyone in open beta and sometimes(rarely) in closed betas while P2P need a key for both.

ok aion or who ever is behind the trouble is affecting the main majority of gamer

anyway i always said from may there are post here ,that this game wasnt worth it

today there are even better game then when i started flaming aion

that being said ,the file you linked isnt a virus if it was norton would have detected it when i downloaded it 

or yesterday scan ,but i did scan it just to make sure and its not a virus

and ad-aware doesnt see a treat in it either

sorry men but either norton doesnt detect your virus or norton crew did analyse it and concluded it wasnt a virus

Wow thank you all for your help and intelligent comments.. the virus, or whatever it is, is not the only issue.  And I'm not 12.  I enjoy gaming.  It isn't truely my life.  You all are brutal.  I wasn't whining btw. The post was my experience and opinion which is a s valid as yours.

I didn't pay anything to play in open or closed beta. Just like someone mentioned before about the virus, it's a false positive-of which AVG is very well known for. You should use Avast, it is much better.

Seriously, shut the hell up, u played one day of open beta, u arnt a master in the game... its a big difference going from closed beta to open beta... so really Be fucken quiet... they are getting it fixed now.. thats what happens in closed betas i did warhammer onlines, and hellgate london, section 8 and alot more... and this happens everyonce in awhile so quit ur bitchen, if u already dont like it and dont want them to fix it STAY OUT OF OUR GAME

While I respect and agree with your opinion, they are right about your virus program finding a false-positive. That is not a virus but probably a file that requires your computer to do something "fishy" according to AVG (such as coonecting to the internet without your knowledge or transmitting unknown game data).

Whoever was in charge of Aion's community relations should be shot along with the idiots who originally thought up the idea of open betas being a paid enterprise rather than a chance for the MMO community to get hooked to the game. Early Start to OB and Retail? Sure, let preorders have that. An OB for people that shell out money without knowing if the game is any good...you can kiss my ass on that one NCSoft.
