if you could wait for another year or two there is a Alt Reality MMO coming around 2010 or 2011, i believe it's called The Secret World the Director is from Dreamfall and Anarchy Online before http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Secret_World

I would say give Eq2 a shot its a good game where you can solo duo and group easy .
but y not just try the free trial's of them Eq2, lotro , Vanguard , you could even try Daoc out 2 . |

Another vote for LOTRO.
Very duo friendly with engaging content, especially if you like the works of JRR Tolkien. Einherjar_LC says: WTB the true successor to UO or Asheron's Call pst! |
