Yet it turns out that most people who are in power are christians and will make decisions based on their religious faith. For evidence of that you need to look no further than the recent gay marriage issue in california: It's a perfect example of religious facism. @Dang: 20% is 1/5, not 1/4 |

Then there are multiple versions of the Bible and multiple denomination that dont recognise certain parts of the Bible. It is also 750,000 words long. A book has to be really, really good to justify being that long purely from a literary perspective. There are giants too called Nephilim, I mean come on, if dinosaur fossils can be found where are these fossils if they allegedly only a few thousand years old?

You're a total Christianophobe man. Proposition 8 passed in California, one of the if not the most liberal state in the country. Hardly a bastion of Christianity. And the politicians who run the state (who are also overwhelmingly liberal) had nothing to do with the passage of the initiative. It was voted on by the citizens of California. If you took a poll of those who voted for it, I'd be curious to see how many of them voted in favor of it because of their religious convictions. Probably not as many as you think. In fact, 70% of blacks voted in favor of Prop 8 which is the single biggest reason it passed. So perhaps there is a bit of racism in your statement (I don't actually believe that, I just thought I'd employ a tactic commonly used by the left. Throw racism in there as a means to try to discredit your opponents position). I'm curious as to why you are so quick to defend Islam when many of its followers who are in power are eager to kill homosexuals, whereas, the Bible simply characterizes it as a sin. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tK6YIAX1jg |

I see that statement about Cristians pushing their views on everyone all the time even from middle of the road friends. If it is true then they are doing a poor job of it. Everything that has happened in the US for the past 30-40 years is nearly the exact opposite of that statement. Abortion is a big one. It was never voted on but was pushed into law by the left through unelected judges. There are daily stories about people getting into trouble for praying which is actually a right under the constitution. In the past 8 months the government has taken over banks and car companies and keep spending us into oblivion. Christians can't do that. Islam is given a pass on "pushing their views on others" even though they do it by gunpoint....or I should say bombs and knives. 1% are fanitics is a BS number. I have never heard one that low. 10% is more accurate but even than there is never any comdemnation by their fellow Muslims. That enough proof for me that the number not condoning the fanatic's actions is WAY higher than 10%. "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy. Its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." -- Winston Churchill |

Where did you get this strange idea that liberals can't be christian? Nearly 80% of the United States is christian according to polls, there are tons of liberal christians. Ofcourse the motivation was religion because there is no other reason to restrict other peoples freedom like that. I'm not "quick to defend islam", but there are clearly quite a few people who have this strange world view that all christians are good, respectable people and all muslims are part of an evil religion that wants to destroy America and Western Society. I also love how you attempt to imply as if I ever used a racism card. |

And this one is all about the killing of palastinians by the Israeli Jew as being religious. news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/newsnight/8232340.stm Oh and didn't G. W. Bush say he was told by God to invade Iraq? Seems pretty religious orientated to me. Is likely to be only Buddhists who are free of taint.
