I use ei still, but only for things that require java, which is unfortuatly my online banking. Java wont work with Firefox and Vista 64 for god knows what reason.

Like someone else said. I have been playing all night yesterday on two different EU servers without any issues at all.

Just some small lag issues and people camping the starter area.

But the moment you got out of the level1-3 area.... it became a lot better already.

And the servers were really really crammed with people.

 

I used to use Nod32, which, at least at the time, was touted as being an amazing antivirus. However, as I stated, my time without an antivirus or firewall has been just fine. The place where most of my problems went away was when I switched from ie to firefox. I could get a problem every week with ie, but Firefox is a lifesaver. I don't know what it is about ie, but seriously, you are killing yourself if you use it.

If you don't run any AV at all. Still I would recommend to install one and run a scan to be sure.

You never know if you accidently got any hidden malware or trojans from various websites that might interfere with GameGuard or GameGuard seeing it as a threat and shutting itself down and the game.

Another possibility is and what you could try is deleting the gameguard.des file, so gameguard redownloads and updates itself.

Try that.

And if you play on US servers. It seems you guys have a lot of issues at the moment. So it could very well be network related that GameGuard shuts down.

I don't know if GG keeps a live connection to NCSoft servers. If so, then that could be the problem as well.

Especially when you said that it ran absolutely fine in Closed Beta.

Yes, I play on the US servers. Also, I do still run scans from Bitdefender online here and there, and have Spybot as well as Hijack This to check my system with every once and a while. But to keep them running all the time is just a waste for what I do. If I randomly downloaded stuff, and read all of the "you have won 1 million dollars!" e-mails, then I might bother with it, but I don't, so it is usually not a problem. I do occasionally get something from torrents, but even that is rare because I actually read the comments on them.

Anyway, as I said, my wife is on a new system, with almost nothing on it, and she is having the same issues. And being that this seems to be a widespread problem with people, and that I play all other games just fine, I don't think I will be wasting a ton of my time trying to check my system.

As I said in my first post, things are screwy right now. I will be back later when things have smoothed out.

This might actually be the case. This morning I opened Aion just before going to work and GG didn't disconnect me like it did the previous night. I'll see how well the game behaves this evening as well.

Exactly, just try it a bit later in US Off Peak hours and see if it gets better.

And before you try again, just delete that gameguard.des file in the GG directory, so it redownloads and updates GG. Just to be sure.

i played on and off from half 5 to 12am plus lol, and so did my mate and my bro, only crashed once but didnt bother me... some people always have problems :/

Alot of things are weird atm. 

Such as some routing issue by some ISP.

Some patch errors that can be solved now, but I forgot which thread the solution was on.  I'll try to find it if I see it, but best if search the forums yourself.

I am not sure if there are more, but I think most errors have some solution now on Aionsource.com and on this forum.  Problem is the routing issue is on the ISP side.

Pretty terrible so far. I can't connect very often, and when I do, there's a ton of rubberbanding, delay, and disconnects. As stated by previous posters, it wouldn't be nearly as bad if the program didn't completely close with a disconnect.

Logged on last night and other than all of the servers being pretty busy there wasn't much trouble until they decided to take the server down that I was on but I had been playing non-stop for a couple of hours without any issues at all up till then.

As has been stated by others this is a beta test phase and they are trying to put loads on all the new server hardware and work out the kinks. If you can't handle problems and servers going up and down then you really should wait until the game goes live.

I did actually. And except some overcrowding issues on the first day it ran flawlessly. Aion on the other hand won't even let me log in ( "You are disconnected from the game server"...) and there appearantly are plenty people having the same issue.

Considering it's not even an actual beta and translating and adjusting to the western hardware and ISP specs was the only thing NCSoft had to do this failure just isn't acceptable.
 

 are you eu or na? Cause I play on eu and have no lag nor gameguard errors, i run vista 64

I'm on EU, vista 64bit as well. Plenty of GG false alarm disconnects yesterday. The game was fine itself, I had no lag issues inside the game. That is, until up to the poing GG thought that it found some "illegal program" running.

Sorry your ending was atrocious. Anyways I like Aion, I can't see myself playing much long term because I don't really enjoy PvP that much, and if theres one thing NCSoft is known for its pvp. Still I think it will launch as well as one can expect, but face similar problems because of too many people stressing the servers.

I played from 7pm to 1am (I'm from austria and the servers should come on at 6pm here) without any issue. Sure the servers came on a bit late, but that was predictable.

But when the servers came on, I created my char and played with 2 other guildies 'til 1am. (At 1 am the server shut down, but that was ok ^^)

Aion is currently in OB / Stress Test mode. Ncsoft made it known that theses issues may occur. Just because it has been out for a year overseas does not mean the servers over here are calibrated and fully ready to handle the load.

Please don't troll or flame further otherwise this thread will be getting the lock down.

well its a stress test and the whole point is to crash the client so they can correct future errors that may occur..most of you people should'nt  be aloud in a beta because you dont have a clue, And people wonder why aion wasnt a free for all open beta, just reading the idiotic posts on this thread will tell you why.

nha i wont play the patience game did that with aoc did that with war did that with tcos .no ty not this time

me my problem is like 90% of the problem in aion is  2 company,like wow,like lot of others same issue

its might not be them but every freaking time theres a problem in usa its those 2 company (quote from aion forum)

i tested with tracert and it stopped axactly  at one of the two company name ,the one i stopped at is level3 in baltimore

president obama said he wanted to connect usa ,hell we cant even connect to his backyard(batlimre level3)

how the hell will connect usa when a big city like baltimore timout your connection 

just wont happen ,unless a gamer knows a free way to work around those company

i know of gamepath,but i  always thot it was our service provider job to make sure we get connection

These are not client crashes, these are Gameguard crashes, which has little to nothing to do with Aion. Also, clients don't get stress tested, servers do. Servers are supposed to be stretched and crashed in Open Beta, that is a given. Client stability and overall usability of the game are supposed to be cleaned up fairly well by Open Beta.

Do I expect this game to be flawless now, or even at launch? No. Do I expect to be able to open the game, and have it running for more than 5-10 mins at a time? Yes. These are not hardware related problems, these are Gamguard related problems.

Also, as I said, they need to let it keep you in the client when you cant connect. Clicking on a server, and having it time out is fine. But I should not be booted all the way to the desktop to try again. This is esspecially annoying when it happens several times in a row, and then you FINALLY get in game, and Gameguard closes....
