Well... That comes under the heading of shit happens(shrug). It is a PvP game after all.  I personally stay in high sec, and I'm still with SWA after almost 4 years.  But I have had some clown in a frig attack my Rokh in a .8 system one time.  I just set back and watched the fireworks when Concord insta nuked them ^^ Eve is pretty much what you make of it.

or buy a few ships worth of parts, stockpile them, and save your fitting, you can fit ship after ship in under a second

Near-perfection, frankly.

My only misgivings about EVE also apply to most other MMOs, certainly all sandbox MMOs: repetitive missions and immensely stupid player-run empires that don't fit into the setting at all. Both are sad, inevitable consequences of a proper sandbox, I'm afraid.

Same here.  There are a lot of things about this game that make me want to love it; but, there are too many things with it that drive me up the wall.  I tried to get into it a few times; but, I could never settle.  I love Sci Fi related games and there really aren't any that come close to this game; but, this game is too rough for me.  I don't want to spend months trying to accumulate something that will be blown up in 5 minutes.  Seems like a lot of time gone to waste and nothing to show for it.  ='(

People pay for the chance to affect politics and large-scale drama, which they can't do in real life unless they're born into the proper social circles or make a lot of money.  It's called escapism.

EVE is the only game where if you meet a fellow player, you will not once utter the words "on my server" or "which server are you on? Oh, too bad, we could have met up."

Blah blah that's the first thing that came to my mind, SORRY if I don't like same stuff YOU like!

I played EVE for a "free" month and forgot to cancel sub, so I "played" for 2 months. I was bored senseless. Everwhere you try to go you must wait for minutes and watch the same traveling animation. I hope they changed that, but even if they did, I wouldn't come back even if they payed me to.

You're welcome to your opinion, no need to apologise, I disagree with you but I know that EVE is really not for everyone. At least you gave it a try.

EVE is a nice hobby for me and has been for the last 6 years.

It is a MMO that gives me the freedom to walk off the beaten path and set my own goals. Often goals that other find too hard or difficult to achieve. Though I play "solo" the virtual world around aren't inhabited by stupid AI only and makes interaction much more meaningful.

You can queue skills now. The skill-system is the most casual friendly skill system in a MMO.  Even when I take breaks from the game I'm still advancing.

As far as what I think about Eve....

Its hands down the  most innovative and cutting edge MMO ever created, and what every sandbox design game should aspire to.  And CCP is dedicated to continuing to make it even better... between the upcoming Dominion expansion and DUSK this games limits are boundless.

Gotta love CCP.  They have a vision and its beautiful.
