there seems to have been a complete shut down of communications since the start of the pay to play beta obiously the game is not going to be released this year but i would really like to find out a little more definitively what is going to be included in the "core" game - i would think by now that even if we don't see this game until early next year things would be getting a bit more set in stone and where have the newsletters got to - the last one was in july and it was just announcing the shop opening and yes i know they are busy with server stability issues but i'm sure that there is someone in the "office" that could relay some pertinent information
come on - this game is fading from the collective memory

The devs are communicating from what I see, but communicating some stupid things really...like the Animation dev commenting on "what would you do if the game shuts down" thread ("I will look for another job") Maybe they should answer some questions on the state of the game, the boxes for preorders that will be shipped (what will it be the beta version?) and other important things
Me dont thinks the game will release this year, even if they do have features working that are not in beta.

"Obviously not release this year" When I asked Henrik on august 21st Q/A, he confirmed release for Q4 09. Closed Beta should end september/october.

I think the most disturbing point is they have not given any notification about the preorder collector sets that were supposed to be sent out on Sept. 1st. Nobody knows if they have been shipped or if they have been delayed.

What would they ship? A box with a beta DVD and the other goodies? I back them fully but I don't see how they can ship what they promised, and if they don't, talk about charge backs that they will be totally powerless to stop. |

TBH, I think everyone would support SV in any decision they make if they actually took the time to communicate to their fanbase on or before the deadline ( Sept. 1st ). |

I would hope that they are working hard on the game and communicating with beta testers at this point. However from some of the latest leaks and footage I dont see how they will possibly be able to release this year. Its looks rough very very rough. Not sure I am ready for the naked zerg fest that launch will be anyways. I think it will launch when its ready for the basic features they said would be in at launch are there. I hope this isnt another financial quick release that results in yet another failed game. |

Last time I checked they didn't even have beta forums, so I'm not sure how they could be communicating with beta testers other than their crappy IRC channel. |

From what I understand is the preorders only gave them enough cash to run the game thru Q4 09. It has to release sometime then or they will have to try to open up another beta server ( or more slots on the current one ) to make more cash. Unless they get a nice anonymous donor. |

They can just keep offering new waves of pre orders and then delaying them for the chance to participate in various stages of "beta" testing with various exciting bonus goodies that may or may not actually ever be received whenever they need more money. They started at 50$'s which was a bit steep but they obviously wanted to start by skimming of the cream, if they drop down to 25$'s a pop I'm sure they will get a whole new even larger gaggle of excited eager beavers biting at the bit for the incredible once in a life time chance to become the MMO philanthropist investor tester developers of their dreams. I mean as long as they are being totally honest about the state of the current game and what any prospective customers can expect from the current state or the game I'm sure the actual release state of the game or the possible eventual non release of the game will not actually be their responsibility if you did not read what you were buying. As long as they continue being totally honest and communicating regularly on twitter with their customers they have never lied, If they mysteriously stop being totally honest and stop communicating regularly on twitter with their customers some time around the possible release or non release of the game then that would be your fault for not reading what you were buying. Just a reminder if you have already had the enormous privilege of paying for the chance to beta test this game please don't attempt to cancel your order and charge back on your credit card, you could go to jail or get sued by Star vault or worse, so just say no and don't do it you evil heartless morons , and just wait patiently for your tin box and T-shirt that I'm sure is coming very soon along with the finished game. Remember Starvault have never lied, you just did not read what you were buying, so its all your ignorant fault. |

I doubt thats the case, and they still have options other than more pre-orders. They can probably get loans and what not from my understanding Starvault has no debt atm so no loans or anything so they still have that option I think they just want to stay away from that option as much as possible. ![]() Damnant quod non intellegunt

http://www.mortalonline.com/files/beta/Mortal_Online_Beta_v_0567_changelog.txt Raw version of magic system is in. I'm wondering if one of the ideas regarding magic, about spells being incantated by a group of mages, will be possible to develop and implement. -- Remember, your advantage lies in your opponent's weakness (J) |
