Is that true? I even heard something from ten ton hammer that the pvp is only about duel and arena. I heard about ranking system to get new items just like wow(OMG! please not that shit) I heard about 2 vs 2. 3 vs 3. 5 vs 5. 6 vs 6(Are serious?! What about the world PVP?. Traveling in the world and kill some other hero is not suppose to be awsome? Who want to see iron man vs warmachine, sibertooth vs wolverin, spiderman vs venom. If we cannot do those match up in the real world rather then an arena or some other shitty shit bg's or instanced pvp, Champion online will never feel EPIC like its suppose to be and il rather go back to a shoot em up fps game if this is how pvp will be. .. .Everyone is playing the HERO what purpose would World PVP really serve storyline wise? Hero's do have clash ups but its rarely a massive world pvp frag event that an MMO would turn into. YOU can how ever Duel any other hero you want anywhere in the world you want. Thats as close to world PvP you're going to get. Its a PVE game with arena / scenario's for PVP entertainment (that gives xp and acclaim poinst for buying gear). Where the heck have you been ...and in what world did you live in for the past year where its all been about PVE PVE PVE...and "scenario" style arena pvp. World PvP in a PVE game = fail
btw please stop advocation the destruction of games with the constant call for games to have world PVP. Not every game works well that way and infact it turns the community against each other more than it binds a community together. |

Sorry, if you spent 2 minutes reading up on this game in the last year you would know there is no world PvP, and the game was never intended to have world PvP at launch, nor does it "need" it to be "fun" or "feel right". It would make absolutely no sense lore-wise in a game like this, unless players could play villains. Let's please not have this tired debate again. The game is what it is... and isn't what it isn't. ------------------------- |

We suppose to leave that job for the fps games or other stuff like that. Darkfall online is a popular game right now. Eve online too. Both of them dont have story at all. the only story you get is when you check their official site, they tell you about the story on the lore page. In game, its not about story at all since the players shape the world. I still enderstand that champion online is more focus on pve, but i mean come on seriously. PVE are for noobs. PVP are made for the owners like me. I was looking forward to that game, max my character and do pvp all day long in the world, use my traveling skill and once i find someone, kill him, but it seem like it wont be possible to do. So champion online is not for me at all. Played DF trial for 2 weeks none stop. Check out my pvp video during trial.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJnU_JEqKRM |

Darkfall....lol. Eve has a story. If I remember correctly, it also has a lot of lore and history behind it, which adds to the great depth the game has. Players just have a tendency to tune all of that out. Kind of like 80% of WoW players don't even realize that warcraft has been around since 1995. And some people do care about the story. It's a good thing to take into consideration. A world wouldn't be a world without history.
It's actually kind of sad that people won't take time to look into a game their playing. Warcraft (Again, as an example.) actually has some respectable lore behind it, but it's lost to the players, even when Blizzard tries to put it right there and make it easy to dive into. (IE WOTLK)
Groovy. |

If they buy it without researching or even reading the game features, and look at nothing but the shiny new packaging and the ability to make a unique looking character, then they get what they deserve, now don't they? Anyone who has followed this game even a little knew there would be no world pvp, and for anyone to get in a rage over it is just asinine and silly. That's like walking into a TexMex style restaurant and complaining about the lack of traditional Mexican style dishes...it's not the restaurants fault you ignored the "Tex" and focused on the "Mex". They had their reasons for no world PVP. It is what it is. You don't like it, find another game, because complaining and griping here won't do a thing for anyone. |

For one, I think you overestimate how popular DFO is right now. It has a niche crowd, and niche does not equal popular. And secondly, why have story? Because not everyone is a l33t d00d who get's their rocks off by pwning others in mindless twitch style combat. From the sound of it, you don't belong in the "owners" category. You sound like one of the "nerds" who needs simulated combat to prove their worth because they are truly lacking somehow IRL. It's sad really. |

I can already see the fall of Champion online. I dont see that game go far. All it can do is selling all their box because some players are curious, but for the long term, it wont do well meaning that the game wont stay strong on the montly fee's if they dont add what its lack.I might go free like GW. You buy the game and its free forever with expansion maybe. Played DF trial for 2 weeks none stop. Check out my pvp video during trial.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJnU_JEqKRM |

As much as I agree with the PvP portion I don't agree with the part that by reading the game features they could get a good scope about what this game offers. Lets review some features here taken directly from the features list: "Hi-Octane Excitement: Champions Online delivers furious, fast-paced encounters previously reserved for action and fighting games. No more boring auto attacks and lengthy recharge times. Champions Online combat is instantaneous — and electrifying!" (they have both an auto attack and recharge times somtimes up to 2 minutes long on certain powers). "Every enemy and super-powered threat in Champions Online has its own unique abilities and combat specialties " (every power an enemy has is a power already in-game, very rarely making any abilities any more "unique" then any others.) "No other MMOG offers players the chance to explore such diverse realms" (Snow, Desert, Jungle, City, Under Water. Can anyone name another MMOG with levels similar?) Now some could still be open to interpretation, and the majority is market fluff... but, oh well.. just pointing out not everything is how it seems
Again, not flaming, just pointing some things out.

I know you aren't flaming, and I understand what you are saying, but no where in what you have posted does it make mention of World PVP, or even PVP, which consequently is the focus of this particular thread gripe. But, I will say this, if you go based off of the marketing fluff, then again, you still get what you deserve (that's why I said research before the game's features). Anyone with any lick of sense should realize (not directed at you mind you) that when marketing a product, those doing the marketing want to make it seem that this one product we have for sale is the cream of the crop, the must have, number one item of the season. That is just the name of the game in sales. Ever hear the term, "buyer beware"? Research and educate yourself before buying, if not, you still have yourself to blame. But even reading the marketing fluff you posted, just reading that, I don't get the idea that the game would have world PVP, so on to the topic of the thread, if you didn't even bother to read the fluff listed above and thought you were getting into world PVP, then the original point still stands. Again, not flaming you masked, just wanted to make the above point. Buyer beware. |

I know, and I agree with you, but again you would also have to believe that the information you're receiving is truthful information which was pretty much the point of my post. Although the game doesn't technically have "World PvP" similar to a game such as WoW or WAR, according to the feature list there is very little information on what CO actually DOES have. Saying there are Arena and BASH PvP options leaves quite a bit to the imagination. Purchasing it on the box information alone or even the information given on the website could easily lead you into making a bad decision.
But I digress, I am severely off topic in some form or another... |

My other question is now that we know Champion online wont have world pvp (well, i dont know if villains will be in one day, but even if they get in, it might take an other year ) Aion is still here. I thought i could compar aion with champion online because both of them give you the skill to explore the world by any kind of way including flying. Also, in both of these game, you can fly and fight at the same time. Aion is still better because it have the world pvp. there are 2 faction and not only it is focus on pve, but its more a pvpve and this had never been done before. So my final choice would be aion even if i dont like manga style characters, japonies kind of art like final fantazy. And its already in my plan to buy the game anyway because it seem to have an intense pvp system. Played DF trial for 2 weeks none stop. Dude, I could ignore the ingnorant post about there not being World PvP in CO. However, after this last comment I have to say something.
You sir are a AION TROLL FANBOI looking to post how AION will be the next WOW killer. Take your AION FANBOI crap back to the AION discussions and STFU.
To try and compare the 2 games when the ONLY thing you had in your head for the arcgument was FLIGHT proves you were not hear to do ANYTHING other that TROLL for AION LOVE. Go home and play AION and stay away from other games. They do not care.
Say hello, To the things you've left behind. They are more a part of your life now that you can't touch them. |

Personally I found Aions combat and general gameplay pretty dull and similar to many other games. The PvE aspect of the game was ok but wasn't particularly spectacular. Flying was nice for sure. Graphics were great. But the force PvP in the world was a deal killer for me. |

Well, if the information isn't factual and is misleading, then that leads us to an entirely different place arguement wise. The only way to verify that information is research, be it through reviews or go to a forum and ask around. That's why I personally would never go off of a website or box information, too many people have been burned nowadays (like they have with a few releases in the last year or two). In the end, it still falls on the shoulders of the buyer. As for anyone looking for "world pvp", if they get sucked in by Arena or Bash PVP wanting world pvp, and don't see those exact words and just go off of what is presented, then they don't have a lot of ground to stand on complaint wise for not even trying to look around and figure out what exactly those are. And if the information is indeed limited (which for CO it's not, because plenty have or are playing the game), then that is a risk they choose to take on themselves. Vague information sucks, but it is part and parcel of the marketing gig. Is it right that they can do that? Maybe not. Is that going to stop anytime soon? Nope. Not until pigs fly, and maybe not even then. I've made bad decisions based on limited information and based on outright lies. The outright lies, shame on the one giving false information. The limited or vague intel...shame on me for not researching further. Live and learn and all that jazz. I digress as well...we all get a little off topic=) |

Darkfall?! ROFL! omg..someone said Darkfall and popular in the same sentence...now I know not to take this thread seriously. I'm sorry if you want to put Popular and PVP in a game you talk about EvE which does have story and the Open World PVP makes sense there as well. It doesnt make sense in Champions...Dueling between heros makes sense and thats what you get at the moment. I just have to laugh again at Darkfall and popular ROFL! |
