This is what we do. We get very vocal about the games we like, and just as vocal about the ones we do not like. It is this whole big thing. "Gamers will no longer buy the argument that every MMO requires a subscription fee to offset server and bandwidth costs. It's not true — you know it, and they know it." —Jeff Strain, co-founder of ArenaNet, 2007 |

Lol, wow where to start. First off, no I don't give a damn about any of the work game devs have done, and news flash, they haven't done it 'for us all' unless it's an open-source game. I work just as hard, if not harder, than any game dev, so they don't automatically get my respect simply by shipping a product. They have to earn it like everyone else. Secondly, not sure who this imperfect 'our GOD' is that you're referring to, but I highly doubt you speak for everyone on this forum where religious matters are concerned. Finally, as others have said, if you think CO is a bitch of a release, clearly you haven't been around for some of the true clusterfuck whine-fests like AoC, SWG, WoW, and others. Anyhow, asking for people not to cry over an mmorpg release is an exercise in futility. Thank you for the laugh though.
And yes I was sir, check my post history on SWG, MxO and AoC , just to let you know it is the same as this thread. And yes I understand we paid for CO or any other new release MMO back in the day, the point is there should not be whining and bashing on games that just released especially MMORPG. And to just bitch and moan on a MMORPG that you know patching and updates will come and fix the game play issues so, it is not needed for me or other people that understand this thread. |

Good lord, I expected halfway through to Read "LEAVE CHAMPION'S ONLINE ALONE!!!! I'M SERIOUS, IF YOU HAVE PROBLEM WITH CHAMPION'S ONLINE YOU COME TO ME!" We care about the hard work that goes into games, we really do. All of us. We also know when all that hard work has made a steaming pile, and when its made a marble statue. Now I don't think this particular game is a steaming pile, but we're all a little too informed on the genre as a whole to see this as a marble statue either, its average for the genre and they need to be happy with that. (you should too)

Why get worked up yourself over something you'll never change? All this topic does is make some nice flame bait. 1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical. 2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself. 3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose. |

Complaining about complainers is a futile exercise and lengthens the threads with arguments to the point of incomprehension to what the subject was about to begin with.

No one expect a MMO to launch without problem, tech or otherwise, however, you also DONT create problem on the very launch day with no warning, especially screwing people who had headstarted, without that huge bomb of an update that completely changed gameplay for many character, I doubt the bash would be this bad. |

The right to say you dont like a game you paid for, or you got disappointed by a game you were waiting for, is a basic right on this forum I guess.
That being said CO is not that bad in my opinion. It's not that good either. As someone just said, I dont have any problem with the launch. The balancing patch just one day before the release is not that a clever move for sure : I've been in the closed beta for a long time, and everyone kept telling them there was a big balance problem between different sets, and some passive were overpowered compared to others... It's a puzzle to me why they decided to change everything just one day before the release, it's not like they didnt know before. But even that... well it's the common MMO stuff : buffs, nerfs, patchs... that cant always make everyone happy.
My main issue is rather the game doesnt feel that fun for my taste (just my opinion, I'm happy some ppl have fun with it). The poster above me sumed up precisely what I dont really like about it, for the most part. I just want to add also that the teamplay is a big let down in this game, with everyone playing self sufficient toons, there is no need for teaming and no spot for support toons, at least from what I experienced. Check my blog on mmorpg.com. |

This complaining isn't new by a long shot. UO beta testers were probably the first, whining about all of bugs that weren't fixed. EQ had one helluva flame-fest start. Really, the only difference between then and now is there are more places to discuss the game and more people to discuss it with. |

This is Hitler's take on the most recent patch. Naturally, I disagree with him. However, it should at least bring a smile to your face whether you like CO or don't, it is pretty clever. |
