I really dont understand why there are so many I hate wow I love wow type threads.

Have people really forgotten that the only opinion that should matter to you is your own opinion.  We are playing video games here not making life decisions.

People really need to let stuff go, if you play a game and you dont like it move on.  Why does it then become your personal goal in life to trash the game becasue you dont like it?

Same goes for movies critics can give a good or bad review of a movie but in the end if I see the trailer and I want to wach it I am going to watch it regardless and form my own opinion.

We play video games to have fun, try everygame you want form your own opinion and either stick with it or move onto the next we have a market of several hundreds of current games to chose from, who cares what this guy or that guy says if it looks bad to you dont play if it looks good check it out then go from there.

My opening sentence uses WoW as an example purely becasue everyone knows it but this goes for all games there is a zillion and 1 threads that hate and love every game and they are written so patiently for either side.  

Reviews of a game are merely a single persons opinion and they should focus on the pros and cons, they can give examples from there own experiences but really a good review should be from a neutral standpoint providing information regarding the game.  based on the features , classes , graphics , sound whatever you can decide if you want to give it a try.  These are only recomendations not laws.

In summary I really just would love to see a forum that wasnt littered with such 1 sided opinions where 7 of the front 10 posts arent what can kill wow, god i hate wow,  wow is so awsome etc.  i come to the forum looking for information for upcoming games or possibly learn soemthing about a game I am currently playing but it is hard to see this information through a sea of QQ or fanboy threads..

We all know what opinions are, and how everyone has one, and its entertaining to argue over them.

That's the real value of this forum as i see it.

Sorry to burst your bubble but forums are for opinios and promotes opinion sharing as I just recently posted on another thread about this. What else will a forum be about if it weren't about opinion and sharing of thoughts of ideas? You say other peoples opinions are useless, but nothing is really more useless than this thread since your almost questioning the reason why forums even exist in the first place. What should a forum be "littered" with if it wasn't for other people's opinions? People are influenced by others opinions in different ways some positive and some negatively influenced, but influenced none the less and it effects everyone and the sharing of thoughts and ideas in this sense is good.

Some people like to talk about their video games and have places to express their opinions about it and discuss them. They are entitled to express why they hate wow or love it and this helps these companies push their game to become that much better as well I'm sure. No matter how you dice it, any tid bit of information in regards to a game is going to contain some form of bias, we are human after all and not machines. If you cannot value another's opinion, then a forum is frankly not for you and you should consider other forms of collecting information outside of it.

2.)  Why do you care about what other people post so much?

People have there preferences, often they cannot understand why it is others have differing views. So they put forward there viewpoints often in opposition and often out of frustration in hope that people will come to realize/share there own opinion. This happens all the time and sometimes the person doing it appears unaware like the OP for example. The OP is like someone bashing wow, except instead of bashing a game the OP is bashing internet etiquette on these forums.

Having an opinion about a game is one thing, banging on and on about it is rather tiresome.

At least it is tiresome for me, the internet is accessable to every Tom and Dick so i am not suprised that some people say they hate a game and always go to that area of the forum to slag it off.

What are the motives of such people i don't know, they may enjoy the argument, they may enjoy talking about a game they dont like or play(stranger things have happened) they may enjoy inflicting pain on themselves or sticking needles in their eyes, it takes all sorts and our true nature comes out when we can hide behind a computer screen.

To the OP, when browsing this forum ignore the obivious hate threads and cherry pick what you read otherwise you will get caught up in it.

Well, you know what they say about opinions right?  Opinions are like assholes, everyones got one and they all stink.  Now someone kick Blizzard in the balls and while they are down make them develop a Starcraft mmo for bollocks sake!!

Telling people their opinions do not matter on a forum is quite ironic, especially given that it is the OP's opinion that this is true.

I actually DO care about what other say about MMO's. When I consider a new MMO, I use this forum to see what other say about the game. I check out the first 1 to 3 pages, and see if theres anything particular similar negative sides that goes in the different threads.

If there are some sort of negative game mechanics that are pointed out in the threads which I couldnt play with, I drop the idea of playing that game. Plain & simple.

So OP is definately wrong; opinions DO matter.
