The beauty of Aion is that it never feels "anime" when you play it. The story is so captivating that it draws you into the epic environment creating a wonderful picture of artistic flare. The only "anime" part of Aion is that it was made in Korea. Aion v3 "RELOADED" - A glimpse into the future of the MMO genre http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PAM0wr7cZ8 |

I will be playing Aion on the 20th as well. i have played GW for along time and it's time to lay it to rest. I also tried out Wow and i didn't understand the hype with it why so many ppl love it so much. I for one couldn't stand the mis proportioned toons in that game along with it's old and out dated feel over all. I will admit it did have a lot of features they were good but not enought to out weigh the bad things. Also the ppl in wow were all kinda rude to say the least. Anyway i for one can't wait for aion and i hope it becomes the 1# mmorpg of all time!!! |

I stopped playing WoW a while ago. Great game. I just suppose after playing on and off for 4 years, you look forward to something new.
So I suppose I am not converting so to speak. I am just happy to have a new mmo to play for a while. :D |

Meh....I'm going to pass on this theme park and try an indy game. I will probably play Fallen Earth or Mortal Online until Guild Wars 2 comes out. The indy games may not have all the flash and flare, but they have the freedom and the chance to evolve for the better. Most theme parks seem to devolve and get more and more simpler/dubmed down over time because their design caters to the lowest common denominator. Just look at how WoW has changed, and it wasn't all that challenging at launch... G A M I N G . O N L I N E . S I N C E |1995

I didn't say GW2 was an indy game, I said I'm going to play an indy game (Fallen Earth, Mortal Online) until GW2 comes out. If you have trouble understanding what someone has written, it is best if you just don't reply. GW2 may well be a theme-park, and if the game play leans toward the status quo, I may be playing Earthrise or something else instead. However, Guild Wars was an awesome and very, very polished game from day one, so I will give them the benefit of the doubt for now. I hate to break the news to you, but look around. It is Marketing 101 that the masses are the lowest common denominator. This planet is NOT filled with a majority of intelligent and/or creative people. The majority are plain old people who don't want to think or do much. When you design a product for mass consumption, you make it as dirt easy and accessible as possible so that you can have the largest customer base possible. This is what is meant by designing for the lowest common denominator. Take a marketing or product design class and ask your instructor if I am right. I also didn't say Wow was a horrible game, but anyone who has played it knows that it started off as a fairly simple MMO (with exception of the 1% who do end game) and it has been getting easier and easier with every patch/expansion. Leveling is easier and faster, getting loot is easier and faster, etc. It has been devolving to meet the expectations of people who want instant gratification, not a long term gaming commitment. This has happened to many an MMO and if Aion gets very popular, it too will probably head down this path. Hell, I've been waiting for WoW to get the point where the game plays itself for you while you watch....it's not far off. ;P Indy games like EVE have avoided this trap and they have continued to develop a deep, complex and interesting gaming experience for their niche customer base without falling into the trap of dumbing the game down in an attempt to pull down WoW subscription numbers. P.S. I don't play EVE. G A M I N G . O N L I N E . S I N C E |1995

I left L2 more for personal reasons and after a year break didn't want to go back and be a year behind. I got into a couple games after their initial launch but never lasted for a month. I did spend a lot of time in a F2P game called CABAL Online which was good as I liked the Graphics. it was a small world though not even 100k in players and was on the leader board there for a while. I have been waiting for Aion for about 1.5 years :) and can't wait for 9/22 actually 9/6, then 9/18 to get my name and then 9/20 for the two day pre-buy headstart and then for 9/22 for it to be wide open. it is so funny how excited I am about this game... I feel like a 6th grader waiting for summer break. LOL. Sukah |

I quit playing WOW a couple of years ago... Didn't like the graphics much, but the main reason is that I got bored.
I'm not playing anything at the moment, so when I heard Aion was coming out, I became interested. I'm looking forward to playing it, and I hope I don't get bored with it too soon.
$15 for a month of entertainment isn't much, by the way... Have you gone to the movies lately? $15 will get you in with a soda (Alone!) and it's over in a couple of hours. Even at 3 hours a week, it's still a bargain! UO, DAoC, FFXI, GW, WoW, LOtRO, WAR... <UO is still my favorite... > |

I plan to although I'm considering holding off until the new year to avoid the mad rush. Not 100% sure just yet but I'll likely at least buy it on the 22nd and decide with my g/f when we plan to start up. "Mom, I play Tera for the gameplay I swear!!" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-2paFdRw_U |

I love raiding (One thing differnt :P) and I've stuck with mages, rogues, and priests. I'm pretty much done with wow. I'm burnt on Ulduar and the new raids/instances are very short and not very fun as a raid. IC will come out, and if I feel like I have time to dedicate myself to raiding I may join WoW again just to play a boss or two. When caticlysm comes out, maybe I'll go back. It all depends on the current age MMOs and my life. I don't hate any of the players in WoW who are just like the buds I played with, but I do hate the fanboys who are all for the game. WoW just like every other MMO has flaws.
@ the OP and everyone else I am technically converting from WoW, GW, and random F2P mmos to Aion on the 20th of september when the Headstart starts. People are picky of their games, and it's allowed. The reasons tend to be repeating funny comments such as: the game is too linear, the game is not innovative and don't talk about flying, and some others. The funniest was said today. No good limitation on custimization. Thats hilarious. It doesn't set right with you that your are able to customize you charecter. Lolz. I'm all for the simple presets and 16 options for custimazitions, but I got to admit the charecter creation is definitly a plus. Thats my 2 cents
Mr. Phire I thought the same thing when I read that "there is not good limiation on customization" LOL. I saw some awesome customized characters I mean from Golemn from the Hobbit to Angelina Jolie. I actually didn't spend too much time in the CB as I just wanted to get in and play but I mean you saw guys running around looking like Dwarfs to WI's that are the epitomy of Ghandalf the Grey. I was just telling my friend (who is still playing L2) that one thing I really liked is that you would never be in a situation in this game where you run into 45 guys/girls that look just like you wearing the only elite gear available and carrying the same exact armor. Another funny thing that you hear about is the "so linear" I mean with the in game customization with stygmas, enhancements, stones, topped off with color dyes I truly believe you would have a less likely chance to ever run into two Chars that even come close to being similar even if they are both the same sex, same color hair, and same char type. I can't wait LOL. |

I like Open PvP something akin to DAOC RvR and DAOC BGs. Im a fan of Crowd Control. I dont think warhammer was quite as terrible as some people made it to be. Hardcore raiding guilds I beleive to "Typically" be a handful of "Asshats". And my last pet peave, I dont like how blizzard breaks the things that are fun for no good reason. That ones kind of a long rant so I wont even start. Oh yeah, ganking and griefing is blown out of proportion. I still dont like Zorndork. Wait, did I spell that right? |

I'll be quiting WoW when Aion comes out. I'm a WoW vet since nov. 2004 and my tier 8.5 DK is going to sit on the shelf for awhile. Personally I think the new WoW expac is nothing more than a stealth beta for their next mmo. To many fundamental changes for just a content xpac. I just, like today, tried CO and it sucks. Thats my fault though because I never liked CoH. I just thought it would be different and its not. The best part about that game is the charachter customization.... I played all the aion betas and love most everything about it. A few small gripes here and there like some of the audio and animations but nothing game breaking. It will definatly keep me going till the SWTOR and 38 studios mmo (there better be something good there!!!!) as well as the warhammer 40k mmo.

I also have been a WoW head for almost 4 years now since i quit ultima online and i am soooo ready for something new... i loved the good times ive had on WoW and all but i have been praying for a mmo to come out and destroy it for about 2 years now, aion prolly wont take WoW out or anything but i sure hope it does. i played lineage 2 for a couple of months and just LOVED the graphics but the game play was just not as good as WoW's and vise versa with WoW.. the game play is the shizznit but the graphics are just not there and yes i seen someone say on a post above that it feels more like a job now and in a way ya and people have made it where you have to be elite and geared out to join raids and stuff so i feel sry for the noobs that get turned down by all the d**kheads that play WoW, and just about everyone on WoW thinks there s**t dont stink because they can press a couple of buttons at the right time and have good gear but there are d**ks everywhere in life so im sure Aion will have there fair share too but a fresh start on a new mmo will bring down the testosterone for about a year hopefully since everyone will be noob Lol.. Anyway.. Aion, WoW, lineage, those are my kinda games, i love the ancient/medieval war games and movies like LOTR and stuffs. I ALWAYS thought that if they mixed lineage 2 graphics with the WoW gameplay that would be the coolest game ever and when i found out about AION i was in aww.. i couldnt of ask for a better game to come out then a wow/lineage clash. i cant friggin wait to throw WoW in the dumbster and start up on some AION. everytime i look at the pics and youtube the pvp videos i get excited as hell, those graphics are just elite and perfect for my style. AION's gonna get my 15 bucks a month fo sho. |

Most of my friends have up and left and the community leaves a lot to be desired ( still better than the age of conan community with its large impersonal guilds though ) . From AIONs beta i got the same sence of excitement i had from the WOW beta 5 years ago . Any one called this game an asian grinder has nt played it . Its no more of a grind in its early levels than WOW . |
