OMG dude just go to either NCsoft's site and look in the FAQ section or go to Aiononline and look there stop asking here.

Because running a open beta on your own bandwith would cost a company a absolute fortune. In these days of places that specifically host files etc then its the best means to distibute through them for free whilst that company rakes in a fortune of page impression's with there advertiser's.

The Twitter post implies they're going to give away beta keys to regular people that haven't preordered the game. So just keep an eye on that website and hopefully you can get a key to play.

Following our recent announcement regarding the commencement of Aion's open beta, we have taken steps to ensure a smooth setup and preparation process for all participants. While our Launcher will incrementally update your client, the new and patched Aion open beta client has been distributed to a select few partners around the web to prepare for our open beta test. To get your hands on it, you may visit FilePlanet or download it from GamersHell (available later this week). We have also added a new option that the Aion community has long anticipated: downloading the full open beta client via our BitTorrent tracker (md5 checksum). We have even arranged for a torrent patch for those of you who already have the closed beta client installed but want to get prepared for open beta! As added extra spice, FilePlanet will--in addition to distributing the client--be giving away a load of open beta keys starting on Tuesday, September 1, 2009. Get on the starting line if you do not have an eligible Aion account already! Eligible accounts include any previous closed beta participants and those who have preordered or prepurchased Aion. Remember to update your Aion game password if your Aion account was That's right off the aion website incase you still haven't got the answer u wanted sinviper.

About the Sep 1st keys, can you play on the 1st or do you need to wait till the 6th like you wren't getting the headstart? Fileplanet will have a page that pops up on the 1st which you can get your key from. You will need at least a free account to obtain one, as FP ties keys to accounts in case you misplace it. You will know when the page goes up because it will have a link off FP's main page. And before you ask, I am psychic. So in conclusion, you will need a free account and have downloaded the client and your ready to go. Anyone else who has pre-ordered and already has put there key in does not need anything but to update there closed beta client and wait for the 6th.
