Think of it as a chance to play in... groups. Groups in MMOs, it happens. Really. And it's priceless to make the raider(s) run, or even kill him/them.

Learn your class' role in combat. For instance, don't assume a Chanter is a main healer class.

Believe it or not there are a lot of people who try their hand at ganking but might not be any better than you. Really. I've had numerous times where someone snuck up on me to take me out and instead I wiped the floor with them.

So... don't freak out, attack back and you might be surprised at how well you do. Don't forget to take a potion while fighting and maybe early to A: mitigate the damage they are doing and B: to allow for the cool down so that you might have a chance to take a 2nd potion.

If you lose then nothing really bad will happen. And just hit the "back to town" or wherever you go quickly so as to not give the attacker the satisfaction of gloating if that's their thing.

Tip #14

In abyss, when in doubt of a fight, roach your way out. Run of a ledge, drop far down, spread your wings, fly, find a hiding spot and wait till the RAID can goes away.

You only lost because you have a life, and the opponent does not. Hopefully.
