It's a great game with great background, nice looking graphic. Your character look cool from beginning till the end

Since this game have a lot of thing to intertain, its make me forgot about leveling so its get funnier.

I mean you can : Do quest, open rvr, close pvp, public quest.

Quest are cool if you take time to read the story and stuff about the background

pvp is fun and i never get bored of it. I think this game is almost well balance since i win and lost almost at the same rate.

I dont do a lot of open rvr cause you have to be patient but theres always a lot of people out there raging on keep and with the new rally call, its just get more fun.

You can say anything about again public quest but they remade it in a way you can get to the end without many people. So you can rally up with 3 to 4 friend and get it to the end.

About role playing, if you dont see any, just create it ! Last night, it was late and i was too tired to do pvp or quest but not enought tired for sleep so i park my orc choppa in a warcamp and begin speaking in the channel. One hour later, we were a bunch of greenskin around the campfire raging on a silly but cool burp contest. It's meaningless but funny and so, my point is: If you want a game with more soul, put your effort in it.

Come back on war ! They make a lot of event barely every month and the game just getting better and better and can grow on something really big if more people could come !

Rally up for war ! Waaagh !

Well I would very much like to rally up for warhammer, not the online part of it but the board game.

As for the WAR online well, I played till max lvl and opposit to you I find the PvP meaningless and way too casual. The PvE is still shit and the game lacks any end game content to speak of... after a year. WAR has become WoW -the PvE part and slapped a PvP side to it, problem is that like WoW the PvP doesnt do jack shit.

Keeps are rarely defended, why? Cause theres better to let it fall and retake it, gives more renown and items. The only ones who would defend the keep would be AOE players.

-the game has no guild PvP

-the game lacks guild/player building and well.. guild is but a name of a community, not like real PvP games were they can actually change the world to some extent

-BG's wooohooo lets kill of the last piece of PvP by having everyone instancing versus eachother

Until WAR PvP starts to make sense it will keep on downhills.. Its the same from tier 1 to 4, sure it may be fun the first couple of days but when you realise its not going to change, the world will still revolve around BGs and keep battles were theres nothing to lose nor anything except exp/rp/fluffy item" to win. Warhammer lore doesnt revolve casual cookie cutting or keeps that fall every 5min or so. Every battle should be grim, bigger but more importantly every keep, castle and fortification should be fiercly defended as well as attacked..

But its too casual and too dull, didnt they learn anything from making DAOC, thats how it should have been done.

I'am a long term mmo and warhammer table top gamer and love the warhammer lore and I still think the online game sucks big style it just lacks the Warhammer atmosphere.

I'am the opposite of you in almost every way I found the classes looks and the way they play very bland and boreing the PVE is a after thought that is forced on you if you want to stay competitive, RVR is ok in short spells but most of he time ends up as a zerg or RVE, and don't get me started on PQ's there just a over used glorified mini rep grinds I hate them with a passon.

Then you come to the way the game runs although it's better than what it was it still runs like crap and the number of bugs and cheats still present a year after release is staggering.

The game as a whole is just a jumble of good ideas implemented really badly and to be honest i'am not sure they can or have the time to fix it.

I think the issue is they actively tried not to create DAOC in a new skin.

I left because RvR was just PvE. Basically you take a keep and move to the next. The opposing side just follows behind and retakes the keeps ad nauseum.

Well, wait a minute. It's not supposed to have guild pvp. It's a rvr game.

Secondly, I found the battlegrounds were at leaset about pvp. The whole rvr thing was essentially players NOT holding castles but moving on to other areas so that they could take undefended castles. Or gettng 6 guys hunting down two or three players.

There's no P - V - P in any of that.

If I'm signing into a pvp game I expect there to be pvp. Not hunting around areas so I can gank some unsuspecting player and then take a castle only to then abandon it to get another.

Let me guess, your main toon is Order and ORvR is empty now, you're tired of flipping zones and you cannot  get any gear progression since all the high level Destro left and you're stuck looting officers token which are of no use to you.

Yes great graphics, also get used to that weapon look as every weapon to your class will have 3 different look, that's it, no matter the name, the stat, you get 3 different graphics.

I mean you can : Do quest, open rvr, close pvp, public quest.

Let me see:

-You will level up to 40 in less than 3 weeks, which is not bad.

-You will not care for any public quests once you hit 40 as all the rewards are not good for lvl 38+

-Quests? Yes if you love the lore, do them. Otherwise no rewards that come from quests are any good for you character after lvl38.

-Close PvP? Scenarios, yes they are good, in fact one of the most enjoyable part of the game.

-ORvR, yeah it's fun zerging, well for a while. Then you pay 15$, zerg some more, pay 15$, zerg some more and then cancel the game.

PvP could be fun, sadly it has one of the worst balance between classes in T4

Some great ideas, but wasted with crap end game design and horrific programming and testing.

I finally got sick of rolling alts and abandoning them in Tier 2.

Seeing the opportunity missed with this game makes me sad and angry.

Anyway, I've been back in the game after I got that 10-day return thingie they sent out. Found I needed more than 10 days to evaluate the game so I signed up for 1 month subscription.

1.3.1 brought some much needed performance boosts. Game run ok now and stutter free on my setup, 2.1 dual, 256mb 8600 gt, 3gb ram and a Asus p5n32 board. Now, with that setup the game runs quite good at 1280 in pve allthough I have to reset the setting to min when at keep due to the large number of characters there to keep it stutterfree.

The keeps got another stair up to the miniboss there now but it's still a nukeparty in my experience.

Got my character to mid t3 now and managed to hit the wall. A bit early to see it in my opinion. I imagine I play this game like most people play it, 50/50 pve/rvr.

The itemization is braindead some places, like putting weapon skill on caster gear and letting the new gear from LotD be on-par, and sometimes better than the best RvR gear ingame. Atleast that's what the vets tell me ingame. Seen the weaponskill on castergear myself though.

T1 and T2 RvR where a blast but somehow they managed to bury that fun when you get to T3. The xp slows down to a crawl, same with the influence. You don't feel like your character is growing anymore, unless you play the op ones that is. The game got designed around RvR and mass-pvp but you're still gonna die alot if you roll the squishy ones. Balance is a non-issue with these guys it seems. I know the whole rvr focus thing but still the balance can be done alot better than this.

Mob balance still need ALOT of work too. Some mobs are pushovers, even some champion types can be soloed quite easy while some other mobs will spank you hard, very hard no matter what class you are.

I'm not sure if it's worth it for most people. The game is alot better than the joke we got served at launch but it still need alot of work to make this game stand out in the crowd.

I don't know if I'm gonna last till endgame in this one. While it's an ok game now it's nothing special. What keeps me ingame is that I'm a big fan of the whole warhammer universe but I don't think that is enough to keep me sadly.

Edit: My XFire reports my ingame hours at 127 at the moment just in case anyone wondered how long I took to hit the wall in this one. I idle alot though so the real number is somewhat smaller, I would say around 80-90 hours.

The only reason to play Warhammer is that your adicted to MMO's and you have a couple months to kill before the next game/expansion. Aion would be a better choice for PvPers.

I agree that this game is... maybe not for hardcore gamer since you only have 40 lvl and you can get max really fast

guild offer some thing you cant get alone and just to renforce a community still a good point

so u must left game long time ago

if u do dont talk about current state of game

sometimes we fight only with keeplord - its mostly depend from time of the day and week - but often we fight large battles against other players

zone locking bring us large change to the game

takeing keeps is not real bussines now - locking a zone is

playing good scenario gives u a much better rr exp than single keep

and yes keeplord have bags - but i have full annihilator set since 32 lvl (i camplete it in 2 days) - and im still fight at keeps - its fun for others for zone lock

and keeps defence gives u a lot of rr exp - normal exp (if you below 40) medalions and inf

but game isnt perfect yes - have alot of bugs - few news with new patch x)

but that are not kind of bugs that wont let u play

anyway its best rvr game out in market - and it wont change in near future

maybe Aion - but i wont play with animefreak char - visual aspect of the game is very important for me and i dont like that anime crap

i like to look at my gobbo and have some fun x)
