I used the nclauncher and it would continue my download. Not sure what your problem might be. I actually had to continue the download 3 or 4 times and each time it picked up where where it left off. |

Hi Yunbei, what web browser are you using? I'm just taking a guess at this but to me it looks like you are using internet explorer to download Aion on FP, I think Internet explorer has a limit to how much it can download. If that's the case try using Firefox and try FP again and if it isn't then I have no clue. It's only a suggestion but hope it works out for you |

First off FP supports resuming if you install there download manager which works really great. 2nd why should people not buy the download version because 1 pesron had a hard time getting it when 10s of thousands have not ? |

Add me to the Steam bandwagon. Theres just something I love about being able to access a lot of my games from any computer simply by logging in steam and downloading the game. |

Absolutely no problems here downloaded it from the NC Servers from the EU. I considered buying through Steam, but the wiki entry for GG lists Steam as one of those services that can cause problems so decided to just bypass that issue. |

Had no problems download either, since FP added the EU servers I actually download quite fast from them, only took like 20 minutes. |

When you use Fileplanet i believe you should get the option to INSTALL a download manager. That program will always check for updates. The only way it ever fails ,is if the program is not the same file, otherwise it cannot fail. The download manager should sit in task bar ,it'll show as a green circle thing,if you click it ,it should show any file you attempted to D/L or have D/L.It even allows you to open the file, rather than try to find where it D/L to,so it is handy. If you feel you got it all straight, you have an option to remove the D/L from showing or you can even delete it,if you want. So all i can say is that if you get a fail on Fileplanet, better to erase and start over, because they may have changed the file, since your original try,so it will never work again on that file. This is how EVERY D/L manager works, they cannot resume a different file check, even if it has the same name. I would never use Torrents, that is the biggest pile of crap ever invented.F2P sites like to use it,because they are cheap.Torrents utilize your bandwidth and all users bandwidth to operate properly, otherwise if you are not configured to allow them a ton of shared bandwidth, you will D/L at super slow speeds.Any reputable D/L site will offer at minimum 150+kb/s,you should get over that on Fileplanet even if no subscription.A good D/L speed should be around 360 kb/s,a Microsoft site would have D/L speeds around 500+,using torrents you may D/L at varied speeds, usually starting at 150 or so then fading down to less than 1kb/s,it is because MANY net providers limit bandwidth through certain addresses or block them totally. http://www.youtube.com/user/Napolianboo#p/u/15/rCYLLQCNc1w |

Hello Yunbei, Most people do not have problems with Steam, FP, or the NC Luancher when downloading a program. As you cannot stay connected and have connection issues, This may be more of the problem than any of the companies or the resolves the following are trying to help you with. As you do not have much experience with Tech stuff, I'll try to make it as easy for you to understand and try. As this may be a problem other people may be having too. Aesperus states: "The problem isn't the download, so much as the fact that you can't stay online long enough to finish it, from the looks of it. 1st, Your computer may have a virus on it that is effecting your connection to the internet. 2nd, If your computer is connected to a Network hub (A Device that shares the internet with a number of computers with Ethernet cords) It could be the cords/network hub causing friction between your ISP-Internet Service provider- and your computer. 3rd, Your modem or ISP could be the problem with a line that connects from your building to where ever or wireless depending what your using. Before contacting your ISP about your problem, it would be best to check for viruses, And checking out your network hub and all your Ethernet cords to make sure they are healthy. Of any of the choice's, Wizardry's choice with the file planet manager would be the best step and fastest, if you ignore your problem. If you want further details to your problems with connection you can PM me.

I tried it with Bitorrent: speed ~ 5-10 kb/s even after 2 hours I had 16 MB. I have Free Download Managed, which did not succeed to continue when I wanted to continue after 26% the next day.
Steam... but I already bought it from NCSoft store now, I really don't want to buy it a 2nd time from steam. *sob* I don't understand any of this computer stuff. I just want to download something... after days and hours of trying I am at the end with my nerves. *__* |

Threads like this just completely mislead ppl - it is just one person's opinion and he can put a topic like this for all to see? I got my Full Client no problem for CBT 6 then CBT to OBT patch on FP in about 2 hrs yesterday. The client does resume and works fine. You can't just say DON'T BUY THIS VIA DOWNLOAD as a blanket statement. Most ppl nowadays buy online and use various download options with no problems. At the very least the OP should be asked to change his Subject to a more relevant title. There are always problems with downloads but usually it's a very small minority. All topics on forums should state "IMO" as a disclaimer :D There are too many threads on this forum with incorrect or misleading titles. |

I went through using the FP free account download. So inevitably the game took forever. Once I was able to download, 30-60 mins later, I started downloading it using firefox's download system. This means It was already somewhat implemented onto my computer and I can just pause it when i wanted to. It started with about 300Kb, primtime free FP downloads tend to be very low, and I went out for dinner. Got back 2 hours later and It was at 7G out of 9G with a 1.3MB download rate, still very standard for a free FP account. So after another hour, my roomate comes along and goes, "yo I can get on aol.". So i get over to his computer check his internet etc. Then I'm like, ohh I guess I should move the router and see if you can get a connection then. So I go back to my station pause the download, disconnect my modem and router, move them to a better place, and then restart my download. The blessings of Mozilla Firefox are awsome. 2 hours later, a total of 5 hours, My full client donwload was finished. Then I had to spend 30 minutes with the instal and any updates. The FP Aion Client I had downloaded was 1.50 or something and not the specific OB patch. So you will have to update it, but it seems to be a very quick patch. the NCsoft launcher took an amazing 30 secs. That is per my experience with downloading the Aion OB client. I personally don't like and don't trust torrents so I stay away from them. From what I've heard they tend to be faster. There was an issue with FP Aion Client downloads awhile ago I believe, but that seems to be fixed. My suggestion to you is use FireFox for a major file download. So you can pause and pick up on it whenever without a penalty, unlike Internet Explorer. And for any major file download, give your computer about 2-5 hours to download it. Unless its from disks. Even then give it an hour to 2 hours. Hope I Helped! Playing: Guild Wars and Exteel |
