The real downside to grinding levels by just killing mobs is gear. All the best gear as you level up is from quests. Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do. |

Actually the best gear is crafted so far all the best gear my friends and I had we made. The Quest gear though holds you over until you can craft better. The drops n quest gear is also good for Researching (breaking down) in order to open up more crafting recipes. |

Man I so hate the word 'gear' where did this term come from? I've heard my WoW friends use this term and it drives me nuts. No one in EVE refers to equipment/items as such. |

After the final XP nerf - even then more XP was added again, the XP output was WAY too low to grind levels via mobs. Even before it wasnt really something you'd enjoy. |

I don't see why you can HATE quest grinding when your excuse was you can't find them, or they say go kill said mobs. Considering the fact you said you want to kill mobs to level, why not do a quest when killing mobs and get more exp/money/items? Then, when you can't find quests for your level, you can use the Crime Computer in your quest log to find quests to do, on top of the fact that if you are nearby they show up on your map/minimap. Then, when you get the quests, they have a giant green circle around the area where the quest would take place. If it's killing mobs, or finding items around mobs, it's no different than just killing the mobs since they tell you exactly where they are. If not really close. I'm not saying quest leveling is the way to go. I actually would rather just kill things with good exp than get quests, but oh well. I'd rather get good exp from quests and crap exp from mobs, than crap exp from mobs and quests. |

I too am sick of the quest grind. Would be nice to see some new games that just let you group and find good mobs to grind, and not have to follow the silly mini stories of quest grinding. |

So basically you want a game where you can mindly set your toon up to just farm away and you do nothing? I never did understand people who enjoy just bashing a mob over the head over and over with no reason or purpose other than to grind. Its mindless...but whatever... |
