Rifts are an important part of the Aion storyline. Why do people keep asking for servers with no rifts? That would be like asking for Star Wars: The Old Republic servers with no force powers. |

actually, despite Aion-pvp-fanboi'ism views, the Abyss is part of the major storyline, the rifts were just garbage added in later to allow the griefers a way to wave thier e-peens. EQ (MT/EMarr), WoW, EQ2, L2, VG, CoH, DDO, LoTRO, WAR, Neocron2, Requiem, AO, AoC,SWToR, Aion, plus a metric ton of trials and betas (in no set order) Waiting on TSW since Dark Millenium was canned. |

Kind of breaks up the grind when you get randomly pwned.
Since it doesnt cost any xp loss, meh. And the best part is you can do it back to them! LineageII | LoTRO | RFO | 9Dragons | Aion | Perfect World | Ether Saga | Dungeon Runners | GuildWars | Hellgate London | tCoS | Warhammer | AoC | Tabula Rasa

Sorry, but I like rifts. Why would anybody want them out? Take a look at WAR, where 99.9% of PvP only occurs in the RvR Lakes. One of the problems I had with WAR was the fact that there was barely any PvP in the PvE areas. This is one of the causes of boredom. I like being able to run into enemies anywhere. Sure, I might get interrupted while leveling, and it might even piss me off once in a while, but that's what makes PvP fun. Without unexpected PvP, leveling would get boring. |

Don't forget the Slayer System that will punish you over time as you gank the newbs. |

Some people will always want something other than what is offered. The grass is always greener on the other side of the hill. You can't please everyone, you know? |

It's actually fairly easy to tell when someone doesn't really do PvP. Those are the people who ... 1) Claim to want a " fair fight" 2) Claim to want a "challenge" 3) Claim to have "honour" when it comes to PvP. Experienced PvP players know there is only 1 claim. They are people who... 1) Claim to want to "win". |

Yes, I know, that's my FAVORITE job... "Hey guys, we're going to the abyss and get some payback on ....." "Sorry guys, I'm on newbie duty today..." "I am CAPTAIN ELYOS, protector of the weak, guardian of the downtrodden... bored out of my effin skull..." And the slayer system is a joke... haha funny joke... It is perfectly possible to complete quests and to level from 20 to ~30 without spending time in a zone with rifts. e.g.; Elyos do not need to go to Eltnen, they can go to Theobomos (spelling?) to level from 20 to 30 without the possibility of so much as one PvP encounter. The people who demand rift-free zones aren't aware of this. Unfortunately, explaining this fact to them is not always helpful. Some are so bent on having the entire game changed just for them that it isn't good enough that they already have what they want. They want it changed anyway. Frankly I think that NCSoft should build a newbie test into the game similar to the Abyss entry test. Make a player pass a test that explains the existence of rift-free zones before they can exit the newbie area. That means before they go get their wings. oh hai this is not a sig |

Because people want the choice to level in peace in what is PVE only areas. The abyss is forced pvp which is fine. That said people who know anything about the game already knew this so quit whining . |

The quests in Theobomos might get you from 20 to 22. From 22 to 30 you'd be grinding grey mobs. |

But you do realize you can go from 26-30 on "grey mobs", right? |

Riiiiight.... And you know you always "win" in newby land when you claim your identity in the deep trenches of the enemies... blah blah blah. You WIN territories. You WIN key victories in the abyss that actually get recognition. You kill newbs... /yawn... nobody cares...
