Everyone on this site knows that every game has its die hard fanboys that will either defend their game with every last dieing word they type, and come in and flame other games that get any type of positive attention. We also see the more manipulative sly ones that go into your favorite game forums asking dumb questions on why they should play this game over their current game, and then start spouting off dumb responses and trolling people.

So the question is... Which game does everyone think has the worst or most rabbid fanboys?

I have decided to post a poll with some bigger games in it.. so you can vote also feel free to discuss your reasons why you chose the way you did.

Rabbid 11-12yo's always win this award...

Although, Darkfall will grab tons of votes, they are deserving so toss those out
Don't see how WoW can possible get a vote since, i doubt 1% of the population here can honestly say they never played it

I voted for WoW but its just because of one certain WoW fan (you all know who) but his rabidness is way beyond any other poster here...

Darkfall is second and dont see any similarity between MO and DF fans...

Well put.  WoWers show up in other games simply to flame the other games and are just about the only cause for my use of the /ignore function.  But I think with WoW its a game of numbers, WoW has a lot more players then most MMOs so they are going to have more bad apples then most MMOs.

I chose Aion, because that game is not worth defending, even though there are many out there who defend it adamantly.  Aion = pretty flowers and exotic animals populating a mushroom-land turned into an Anime style video game, with mediocre gameplay and limited flight (what's the point in having wings if you can't use them?), sexy female characters and emo-lame male characters... that about sums up Aion.

WoW - it's already the biggest so there's hardly any people defending or praising it (apart for one known individial ofc), WoW rather has the most rabid haters.

WAR and AOC still have some fanboys but since both games suffer the same fate and being considered failures - they are average gamesbut greatly overhyped in their time so you'll still se some fanboys believieng in them fanatically.

EQ, EQ2, VG - here come all the *oldschool* players saying how hardcore it was back in the day when they had to grind for hours and run uphills (both ways!). Mostly seen in thread about upcoming games telling you how horrible is the genre by not bringing more classic (and outdated) approach.

EVE - the game's regarded as one true MMO masterpiece by many so there's little need to defend it or tell how good it is. Trolls sometimes like to act as EVE fanboys to appear having good taste and insight in games.

Aion - the latest "WoW killer" a temporary fix for bored players who usually switch MMOs often. The game's already been released in Asia and being a confirmed success so is treated similarly to WoW by fans and haters.

Superhero games - claimed niche by the fanboys themselves so bystanders don't argue with them much since all will end with the *it's niche game* agreement and move on.

Darkfall & MO - "hardcore PvP" crowd being the youngest population of players with their hormones still raging will invade even Hello Kitty Online boards to make sure they know how their game is inferior to gankfests.

Guild Wars - a mix between EVE and Superhero games - a good game but by many seem as not an MMO so being rather left out of most discussions.

True but that comes from WoW numbers and we can easily assume most players have tried WoW and when referring to it in any thread they are pointing out some good things in WoW(the general polish of the game, good UI, non demanding graphics and combat fuidity) not the entire game design.

You're telling that there are playes specifically saying they want another copy of WoW, this is nonsense.

WoW has most numerous fanboys but a few rabid(like the infamous Zorndorf), the haters will often post a lot of stupid crap though.

Dark Age of Camelot fanbois hands down and far and away.  Telling them that Dark Age wasn't all that is like whacking a hornet's nest with a short stick.  They're also of a completely different stripe than any other fanbois of any game that  I've encountered in my travels through many MMOs including DAoC.   They are true addicts in every sense of the word; smoking the crack as greedily as they can, but all the while complaining about the quality of the crack.

Unlike Fanbois from other games, who will never say a bad word about their game of choice, DAoC fanbois are constantly bitching and whining about this or that game mechanic that is in the game.  However if anyone else dares say anything about the game, even if they're agreeing with the fanboi's bitching and whining, the fanbois will suddenly jump ugly and defend the Holy DAoC as the very height of MMO development.  Once they've run off the intruder the Fanbois will go back to bitching and whining about the game.

They also demonstrate a love/hate relationship with the game.  They're constantly pointing out what should be changed, what needs buffed or nerfed,  what should be added or subtracted from the game or simply begging for DAoC 2.  No where will you find a group of fanbois so cynical about the game and the company producing the game, yet doggedly hanging on to either "the glory days" or praying for a miracle wherein DAoC 2 is produced.  They've literally convinced themselves that if the devs would just listen to the fanbois and do what the fanbois want everyone who ever had a DAoC account would resubscribe and it would be grand.  The game has spiraled downward to the point where they've had to cluster all the servers just to get a viable playing population (about 3000 to 3500 in prime time), yet the fanbois are convinced to absolute certainty of three things; 1) the game in it's current state is nowhere near as good as it was "back in the day" 2) that all EA Mythic has to do to get hordes of people to resubscribe is to simply roll back all the expansions and patches (which contained the things the fanbois whined for before they were instituted) to some magical point between release and the release of the Shrouded Isle expansion and 3) that no other game in the history of mankind had any kind of PvP or RvR that could hold a candle to the PvP/RvR in the most holy Dark Age of Camelot.

A curious lot the DAoC fanbois.  The game is on the verge of extinction yet they still fervently believe they are one patch and an apology (they're the only Fanbois I've ever seen that seem convinced that the people who brought them the game owe them some kind of an apology) away from eternal greatness.  They take the cake.

I would have to say Darkfall hands down. Ive never seen a more "intresting"  fanbase. its great comedy to read thier posts. They act like theres nothing wrong with thier game and routinely ignore posts that make good agruments on whats wrong with the game . They make excuses for AV's mismanagement of the game. Instead of taking the "high road" and trying to entice people to play thier game they insult them, although it has gotten somewhat better.

I voted Aion as well.

Mostly because so many speak of it as larger than life. I can't stomach such celebration of mediocrity. Its frustrating to see so many people supporting and defending something entriely dry and uninnovative. Plus they offer NO defense to any accusations in my experience.

These same qualities are found in the Darkfall fanboys. They can't accept any flaw, yet offer no real excuse or argument to any criticism.

These, of course, are disgusting generalizations.

I was thinking DF at first...but gotta say, since the game release they have toned down alot and mostly stick to their own boards rather than infesting every board with comments about 'DF comming soon.' So I would hafta go with the SWG fanboys. Yes there is still a few that defend everything SOE does, and has done to the game over the years.

Second I would say goes to AoC. One poster in particular constantly defends every aspect of the game. Reguardless of how many problems are pointed out to him, he always finds a way to say that the problems are wonderfully being taken care of by those great guys at failcom.

Whiny, petulant tantrum-throwers who complain about every feature of a game! Every game has them! Which ones are the worst?

Obviously Fallen Earth fanbois, its like they can't even see their own game. When I hear them talk about all the great stuff in Fallen Earth, I can't help but wonder if they are playing another game that they think is Fallen Earth.

The bigger something is the more problems it creates

Ryzom. I trialed it a couple months back and if you accidentally said anything in a public channel that could maybe, possibly, potentially, sort of be taken as even being slightly critical of the game, they crawled so far up your ass you could taste them. So much as asking for directions would devolve into a "Go back to WoW" fight. Saw it happen more than once during my trial.

Other than our resident WoW sycophant, I don't really see a lot of true dyed in the wool fanboys for that game.
