Right on man. I said this in another thread, but I'm gonna keep saying it until it sinks in and hopefully they'll fix this issue with GW2. GW was a superb game, no doubt. But even though I tried over and over again to get into it, I just couldn't stay with it for very long. It's not ONLY the low level cap. It's also the low stats on all the gear. There wasn't anything to work towards and achieve any significant gains. Going from a bow that does 8-10 damage at level 5, to a bow that does 18-22 (or whatever the cap is) at level 20 just isn't very gratifying. The only changes with quality is the amount of bonuses attached to the gear. I know it makes for an easier way to balance PVP, but if it stays this way, I won't be playing GW2 unfortunately. Hopefully they'll change it. Everything else about GW, I really liked. |

Well honestly if you prefer a game that is more dependent upon gear and leveling than Guild Wars wasn't for you. It has a different approach and it's one of the things that made me love the game. I'm not sure how Guild Wars 2 will approach this but I hope they keep the same idea of the game. If the game ends up being another generic mmo #9999 with gear and level grinds I won't be playing it, there are enough of those type of games already on the market. |

Well, they've already stated they are raising the level cap for GW2 (though they were still discussing by how much). I can only assume that they will scale the gear accordingly. Personally I was fine w/ the achievements in GW1. It had a good mix of cosmetic and important upgrades. The fact that you could literally turn any armor set into the best one for you I particularly liked. The way skills could be acquired was particularly entertaining. It sounds like you basically just want bigger numbers though, which I wouldn't be surprised if GW2 had. |

I am interested in GW2. It is too early to tell what will draw me into the game. I like the story line so far. I plan to re-read the original story line. It is too early to tell. |

I wasn't a big fan of GW 1 but I didn't play it all that much ( was playing WoW at the time) so I didn't really give it a fair chance, and then of course my brother got my cd keys baned when I was deployed, so I can't try it again, but after going over the trailers, and such for GW2 I believe I'm going to have to give it another go, and see just what this game has to offer..so yeah looking forward to giveing it a try. |
