Blizzard does the re activision in a historic cycle in the game itself ... new graphs included
Seriously zorndrof, no matter what blizzard put in the expansion you would say its groundbreaking. Get off the Aion forums you fucking troll. |

Why would Blizzard have to worry about Aion? Aion won't appeal to many of the western players due to the graphics style it has. Forced pvp isn't big with casual players so it will have similar subs as WAR and AoC in Euro and US. I really don't care about the other markets Aion is in.

Seriously zorndrof, no matter what blizzard put in the expansion you would say its groundbreaking. Get off the Aion forums you fucking troll. You seem to have anger control issues. What Zorndorf is saying is 100% correct. Are you really that frustrated with Wow's success? WoW has infinite possibilities to grow and evolve overtime. Aion is simply a new game heading toward the 100-200k sub NA/Euro area. Best thing about WoW is that if Aion adds a great mechanic into its game Blizzard will just copy it and make it much better for us. Playing: WoW, EvE Interested in: TOR, ER, GW2, WoD, Dust514 |

I see the upcoming WOW xpac as a good thing for Aion and any other game. It will keep the fanbois happy and do nothing but help the communities of other games. |

Zorndorf is not the one who posted a WOW related question in the AION forums...the reverse would have happened if someone posted "Anyone think the WOW XPAC III will crush AION into much smaller but similarly boring chunks of shite?" in the WOW forums...it invites what you call "trolling".

Dude if someone would not by ANY other game simply because Blizzard announced a WoW xpac nearly a year away I would love to never meet, socialize, or have to speak to those people in any medium especially in escaping to gaming. |

Originally posted by wolf94 If you get around like i have over the years,it has been very obvious WOW accounts are just kept open as millions of WOW players are hanging out in other games and especially free trials. There is more WOW players getting bored with the game on a whole, nothing to do with Aion, they are releasing this to regain interest and it seems obvious WOW players get excited by anything Blizzard releases, even before they actually see it implemented. It all makes sense ,you can put 90% of the wow subs into a category of players who jumped in without knowing a thing about the game, they merely follow the trend. Look at the boards, the forums, they have not even seen the expansion implemented, and they are screaming like Jesus is returning, quite easy to gather this flock of sheep. On a whole i would say Aion will make almost no dent or have any impact on WOW at all,a hundred thousand here or there don't matter if you get more than that returning after playing other free trials, and this is what a LOT of WOW players are doing. There is actually quite a few WOW players playing ROM,it is quite a WOW copy,so ya AION should be of little interest to Blizzard. I would be slightly interested to see WOW's numbers come release date of AION,but even then i have little faith the numbers game is very accurate at all. http://www.youtube.com/user/Napolianboo#p/u/15/rCYLLQCNc1w |

I don't know if that was a slight indicating me as a sample of what to expect of the general wow population. That's fine. I like most of the posts you make...because they are from the perspective of someone relatively my age. (I know because you have stated your age before in other posts....not that we should go bowling or something..just like to hear from an original gamester from time to time...one who starting with Pong plugged into the little uhf box..lol) ...I play a few mmos and tried many. But for those that were unclear on my previous post...I am merely saying ,,One can not expect an un-trolled and flame-proofed post when you mention a certain mmo in another mmo forum..stressing competitive issues. Of course people are going to cry fail on both sides...and verbal sparring is the end result.. Now...sure..AION's not the mmo for me...I don't think I've found an mmo for me yet. But since I enjoy games...I have found a few I can enjoy regularly...WOW is one..AoC...SWG...LOTRO..that's all I believe...and I alternate anyway. That aside..and perhaps more than anyone cared to hear...AION will neither kill nor be killed by WOW. I do think WOW has been set up as easy mode in many aspects...but I enjoy it's lore..world and settings and most quests...and the seamless(mostly)travel and am very hyped for the XPAC.....am I going to dream about it ....doubtful. I get burnt out regularly and play one of the other mmos I 've mentioned ...but usually pop back to WOW for a while. Now that Champions went open beta today....that may change.( i hope it is decent)..lol..we'll see.

Personally I think this is the worst Expansion they have released. Unless I hear more additions in the future I think that this will be the weakest expansion to date. Only adding 5 levels, no new classes and just redoing the artwork for Azeroth along with some new quests, it seem like the easiest way for Blizzard to make another $40.00 from their customers. I personally think this is just something to keep people playing for another few years until all attention can be placed on Blizzard's new MMO. I know this sounds like a WoW troll, but I enjoyed the game for 4 years and I just think this is a fairly weak expansion for WoW. I really don't think this will affect anything related to Aion. By the time the expansion is out, people would have made up their minds wheither they want to play Aion for the long run. Who knows, by the time this expansion is out, Aion may have one ready to go : )

Well Millions of asian players disagree with you. Aion already has more than a few months. Don't forget most WoW players are asian players too, so you just can't use the "ooh, this only happens in Aia, it doen't matter" argument. So, your agrument is just a personal opinion, AION already prooved it is not "yawn" and it has long term appeal for the majority of players who enjoy its style.

It will have a minor effect on Aion numbers. If you've played the CB's or are going to play the OB (ver 1.5), then you know if its for you or not. If you like it, WoW will not appeal to you anymore, trust me. And WTF Blizzard? Anounce your new expansion adding Queen Azshara and Sargeras BEFORE you even have Arthas available? Way to totally ruin the excitement of fighting him....yup I'm done with WoW. Aion here I come!! |

I think most of you are putting way too much thought into this.
Blizzard is probably not concerned with Aion or any other game. This is about the time they released information for Wrath and TBC (Blizzcon.), The Wrath story line is just about over and done with at this point. From a wow player's perspective, the new Wow expansion does look pretty appealing. The fact that they're adding more to your character ( Path of the Titans) and more to guilds (Guild Progression) is good in its self. The old world really did need a revamp. There are many incomplete chain quests, quest rewards that are completely useless, etc. This is a good time for Blizzard to correct that. Not to mention, its more than what most MMO's do these days. Plus, if you read up, there is loads of other things they will be doing. New zones, class changes, new dungeons, etc.
I really don't get the wow hate. WoW is a pretty well made MMO and its sad to think that every update Blizzard tries to do with the game people think it is lazy or uninspired. (although I do think WOTLK was lackluster. It felt more like they were testing new things than rather trying to be truly innovative.)
Groovy. |
