I really don't know if I will or not. I played AoC in beta early on for like 8 months then release came and I bought the game and continued to play cause it was super fun. My issue with AoC was not releasing it cause it wasn't ready nor was it the bugs. My issue with AoC was the failure of Funcom and the devs to make the game better from release.
Right from the start all they did was nerf and destroy a fun. Oh they fixed many bugs the first 6 months I just can't remember one that actually improved the game. Oh I remember them fixing the NPC that danced on the chair the first or second patch and many more like that. I am glad they finally did get around to fixing raiding so you can actually advace beyond brc wing2. I even tried to go back, problem is I can't for the life of me play my watered down suckass PoM any more and starting over again just isn't worth to me. I sure hope a new class and starter zone comes with this new expansion then maybe i will try the game again. Yeah set myself up for another failcom experience. I should of learned my lesson from Anarchy Online, yes I played that at the start also. DOH! I never learn and will most likely go back. Someone shoot me now! |

Overall I don't think Funcom has really done a good job, however I am a huge enough Conan fan that I will probably check it out, especially if they offer it on the xbox 360. I really hope they offer a new starter area and a more open environment. |

No new class in the expansion I'm afraid! |

Well, I came back to AoC in january/february and have been mostly enjoying myself since then. I would have liked some new classes to have been introduced with the expansion, but at least I'm glad they didn't do a level cap increase.
Not too sure how I feel about the tiger mount and asian thingy. Anyhow, if they get sieges working and cross server mini-games I'll be happy enough. |

I agree with Barteaux. I would have liked a new class, but I am really glad they did not raise the level cap. Not much into the Asian theme, but I think it still will be a fun expansion.

I won't go back. But what I'll be interested to see is how many of the "I Heart Conan Club," actually go back because of this Xpac. Oh sure, it okay to talk about how you look forward to it now........but come release time next year? In a totally different MMO landscape......plz biotches...plz. AoC is on shaky-ground by TODAY'S standards..they will be annihilated with what the "Big Boys," have coming down the pipeline.
The environment that the xpac will be released in will probably look something like this: Star Trek will probably be out, Aion will be rocking and rolling (in NA), Champions Online, maybe KotR....then you have WoW:Apocalypse which will be changing the whole world (including Vanilla WoW) due to an in game event--there's no comparison. Plus a host of other ones Im probably forgetting (since the ONLY money to be made in PC gaming is MMO's) This is why I can guarantee that AoC will go F2P either just before the Xpac is released...or shortly thereafter. Similar to AO
But hey...FC squeezed about every red penny they could out of that tired Dreamworld engine; but in 2010 the bar is going to be raised above and beyond FC's technological grasp. Xpac=Hello F2P!!! (and NO..copying WoW and adding Tiger mounts won't help) |

I quote "since the ONLY money to be made in gaming is MMO's" this bit I found a bit funny. It show's thatsomeone doesn't quite know what they speak of. ;) If the expansion pack is enough to get me back into AoC only time will tell. At the moment I have started up the Arma 2 playing again since I finally have my gaming rig up and running again. Arma 2 will steal a lot of time from me, and as things are know I sincerly doubt I will go back to AoC nor any other MMO. MMO's are fun, but until a proper MMO with some working sandbox ideas that appeals to me comes along I'll stay with FPS games. |

I don't know if it'll be enough for me to try it again. I'll probably wait and see what others have to say. If it's nothing but praise, then I'll give it a shot. If it's the same ol' same ol', then I'll skip it. Current: None |

I won a copy of the game from this very site and the only way ill ever play it is if they make it F2P/ I was in the beta and the way we were ignored i wont pay to play a game when the devs ignore there paying customers. |

depends on how these new zones work out. I can't level up in the crappy old ones, they just suck too much for me to even get past level 28. MMO wish list: -Changeable worlds |

If you didn't ever pay for the game what has Funcom done wrong to you? Did you expect beta to be a finished game or a sneak preview or something ? Currently playing - Heroes of Newerth, Perpetuum |

How can any of you stand this linear, instanced, pile of camel dung? It was pretty, the melee was fun until people realised that all you had to do was run away. Then they made Guardian Spears into toothpicks, no fun. Then my class bugged out and was unplayable, no fix, sorry. So I made a POM, was fun until there was nothing to do at lvl 40-60. I quit after the first several rounds of major nerfs though, in August 08. Lvl 71 POM on a totally ghost server.
Now: They wan't 20 bucks for a server transfer, over a year after release, they never merged servers, everybody left, and now they want 20 bucks, but not to the one viable server! LOL, what idiots do they think we are? There is one reason anyone would even have to ask for a server transfer, and its not the customers fault that the game was a POS and everybody else on their server left within 2 months of release. Don't they have like 50 dead servers? They couldn't ever merge any of them? Even if this game is better now, they are going to have a huge problem getting anyone back this way. I'd even give it a try, but not when I have to pay 20 bucks and can't even go to the only populated server. Sorry, fool me once, you know the rest. Warhammer lost a lot of customers too, but at least mythic merged servers and allowed FREE, YES FREE, transfers. These guys want a last handout from former customers before bankruptcy IMO. |

they need to make it easier for the melee classes to pvp. i dont like that i have to do a combo in the middle of combat to kill a mofo. The game is great but just make it easier for us fighters to get down! |

I would play it, to be honest the major dealbreaker for me with AOC was the instanced player cities. |

I started up again with their 2 week free play thing they had. After that I have said goodbye to AoC. Not for me, nothing they can do will get me playing again. |

Good thing is they are trying to make the world more seamless.
Waiting for details still there are a few major points missing from the highlights:
The trading UI blows. Social and chat features aren't really good. Key mapping is minimal not to say lack of decent macro system. The emote system is really unfriendly. Switching weapon a pain as it does not switch hot bars. Ranger unfun as there is no 1st/3rd person view switching.
That's sad because with only a few hours of development/testing they could really improve the game by over 100%
Adding more content over half finished/broken features does not makes a game better nor more fun, ever. |

Yes, finally! I remember back in beta when the testers started to figure out the zoned and instanced world design. It raised quite a discussion in which mods/devs started to go allover the posters.About 1.5years later Funcom seem to get it that the fans were right about it. Anyway, instead of fixing their game for the western community which is dealing with some bugs for 1+ year, with this expansion they seem to have dropped this audience as "can not be regained" after the unsuccessful welcome-back trial. So they rather release some stuff aiming for the asian players instead and don't seem to want our western money anymore. |

So you missed the free transfer period then? oh ok it is Funcoms fault still. So not even considering starting a new character has crossed your mind, thinking about it, and leaving last August starting back at level 70 you will have missed all the improvements that made you leave the first time.
