Very nice first look. IMO the ingame footage looked great. Then again I always apprecited the look and feel of the original guild wars Now let's move on to some game details. :) |

Very cool. I enjoyed the different style of making the trailer. Most use CGI for their trailers but this uses concept art and in game footage. I have high hopes for this game, don't let your fans down ANet. |

Although the game looks great and I'm positive A-net will make it a great succes, it wasn't what I had expected. In interviews they have stated it would look like a totally new game and instead it looks just like EoTN with small improvements. The landscapes looks amazing as allways, but I'm a bit dissapointed in the characters. Now they have rebuild the engine almost entirely from buttom up, and graphically they are left pretty much with the same result as before. I was hoping they could achieve pretty much the same level of character-detail as GW's sister Aion, but the characters in the trailer look rather bland. The same as GW1 with small improvements. I'm sure the armors will look great, I'm more thinking body types and facial details. Of course you could also say that getting the same level of graphics as before but this time in a big open persistent world is also a nice achievement. I guess when your mind are left to wander on its own for a couple of years the result will be different from reality, naturally! |

Was the Paladin using a 1hander Sword or 2hander Sword? |

Anybody notice the Large Scary looking Army of Death at the end? Also on the next concept art, It looks like a Large Shadow Knight and a Paladin/Elementalist team are bout to go toe to toe
Also the Ranger at the end appear to have Light Melee. Oh &&&& that Assassin is Dual Wielding Swords !!!!!!! Tight*** Summoning at the end there btw. That class looks looks like its ready to kick some serious booty |

There is also a charr with a gun in there.. and it appears there will be some sort of golem type class like a Warlock only you build golems instead of summoning demons to fight by your side. Day/night cycle Jumping (swimming is probably in there as well with the underwater area) Great stuff.. way more than I could have hoped for in a first trailer. The design blows Aion out of the water, much more detail and interesting level design. Can't wait! |

These are features that GW lacked, and I'm VERY glad they'll be in GW2. I just have 1 more hope for this game..... Higher level cap with a MUCH broader range of gear power. That was the biggest turn-off for me about GW. I could not find fun in getting new loot, because the only thing different about it was the TINY increase in stats or damage. I like this to be handles more traditionally. I love how WoW approachs it. Gear dependancy is paramount. |

What Needalife214 said--- Plus we dont want High Requirements for it, because that once again adds limitations to the game. And we remember how the sparks of all the limitations in the first game trigered
So less limits FTW |

Originally posted by natuxatu I totally agree with you. There was a lot of eye candy in this first trailer. I too am looking forward to the technological aspects of the game. We still have a long wait, but I think it will be worth it! Only thing I ask is don't comparare GW2 to Aion. Aion is more inline with traditional MMO's, while GW has always been it's own game. I don't want Aion's FB flooding this forum with ridiculous posts. :)

Really sweet stuff. The in-game footage looked really good and the story was... promising. I just pray that it's got a higher quality than the storylines in GW1 as I found all of them, except possibly EotN, to be plain boring. |

Well, ArenaNet hired some top fantasy writers for Nightfall, and I personally saw a marked improvement in the story from Factions to Nightfall and EOTN. I have to imagine that will continue. |

Well first up,some of the parts in the movie looked laughable, they used 2d cutouts and just stuck them in there like a IDK,how to compare it,sort of like a cartoon. Anyhoot,i have no idea why they ruined a good looking movie with those 2d cutouts but oh well.It was like some guy holding the werewolf and moving it with his hand and yelling ROWR..lol.The rest of movie was nice animation and scripted work, maybe the main guy got sick for a week and some schmuck took over for the cheap parts lol. The game world actually looks real good,i approve. They have not improved tech wise, but it is along the same lines as FFXI for creating a good look with low tech.I can see the effort was put into the world,i like what i saw.If you read one of my last posts, even before i saw this video,i had a gut feeling, this may be their best effort to date, and it clearly looks like it. The one thing i noticed ,that i really wish they would change for once,is they still use that "goth" look, everything spikes,i mean EVERYTHING,even armour that starts out smooth ends up spikey/pointy.I even saw textures in the world that were all spikey lol,man a different approach for looks please and i would be totally happy with what i saw. BTW ,the first 20 secs or so,i thought i was watching a recreation of SIN from FFX,but it was soon dismayed for a dragon :D. http://www.youtube.com/user/Napolianboo#p/u/15/rCYLLQCNc1w |

Part of the trailer is a tribute to the concept artists (imo the best in the business). I liked it. It certainly was a change from the normal CGI that you see from most other games. |

That's one of the things that was GOOD about Guild Wars. It was skill over time played. No ass-hat who had elite design armor had any advantage over a guy with basic max armor. In fact, the guy with FoW armor was most likely to get beat down in PvP. Personally, I just hope I can still make a Mesmer. |
