It looked much like the previous game engine with enhancements though. I guess its fine to work with something you know that works. Easier than just building one from scratch. Leaves you time to work on something that matters more: gameplay. Can't wait to get to beta. i think thats because they wanted the trailer to look like the concept art ? They said they will use a new game engine. Don't shoot the messenger.....it will ruin you monitor |

The ingame footage looks very good. I did not like the cinematic effects in the trailer. Especially the dragon opening his eye... |

I agree. It litterly blew me away. It has been a long time since I was blown away as with this trailer and it's ingame footage. The sole reason I hated GuildWars 1, was because it was so heavily instanced and chopped up in small zones. People were spread out over way too many instances. Way too many zones. Here in Guild Wars 2 we finally see non-instanced vast open world zones. Very diverse as well. From open land, to lush rainforests, to vast snow covered zones (my gf will love this) to more Steampunk / Tech intensive like zones. Really nice! And they seem to take the same F2P approach again. Just hope they don't slap an Item Mall to it and just stick to the "Gain Cash through initial box and frequent paid expansion pack sales" plan!! And I actually liked the Concept Art stuff in this trailer. It gives some recognition and respect for the Concept Artists! Cheers |

In what way? Show me one Guild Wars 1 ingame video that shows a seamless vast open world. Cheers |

and thats cuz the current Guild Wars (GW1) is already a beautiful game in spite of it being launched more than 4 years ago. heck only a few *new* MMOs can say that they have better graphics than 4-year-old GW. they are using a new engine for GW2 that will enable jumping, swimming etc, and from the looks of it, everything is bigger than anything weve seen in GW1. is tehre night/day? it looks like it when teh green fileds were shown.

I will give it a shot when it comes out. GW is a good game for what it does and can be fun, so I suspect GW2 will be fun as well. Just not a lot of staying power though. ![]() |

Loved the trailer.
One thing I must say, though, is that I preferred the old logo. Apart from that, A+. |

My one question is .... will we be able to explore Cantha and Elona? From some of the footage it would seem so but have they said anything.
I cant wait to experience Cantha in the GW2 engine. |
